I'm thinking of getting colored contacts, but I've heard mixed reviews. Is there any I can buy without a prescription but don't look fake and alter your vision?

I've been single my whole life. I go to an all-girl's school and I'm definately NOT considering going gay. I only have a few friends that I had way back in middle school, and I don't get out much because of all the homework. I have one guy-friend, but I don't really think I love him. I love him like a brother, basically, but it's confusing me. I'm always hooking OTHER people up (which I'm really good at), but I can't switch around my own life. I just want love... but love doesn't want me. I try to be optimistic, but it's like I'm lying to myself. I hate being single. :[
