I can't promise that you will find my answers useful or that you won't be offended by them. But some of them are good for a laugh, and on some level you must have come to this site looking for entertainment. And you must have been desperate...

  • If your life had 4 save slots (like, a computer game), at which points in your life would you use those save slots?

You can't use a save slot until about age 5, so you can't re-live the first 5 years of your life...

  • Why do the good questions die young?

It just seems to be happening a lot tonight... someone asks a really good, worthy question, I spend 15 minutes trying to offer a decent answer, and the question has been pulled... under "review"... and why? Because some troll posted a rude response, presumably...

So why do Yahoo Answers have to kill the whole question? Why can't they just block the rude answer until further notice?

Someone asked a great question about how to begin computer programming at age 14. Perfectly good question. By the time I had written the best answer I could give, the question had been pulled.

Someone just asked about the value of listening to an entire album, instead of just part of it. Again, great question... killed before I could answer it.

It just burns me to see decent questions die on this site, is anyone else noticing this as well?

  • WTF is this facebook window that pops up when I answer a question?

For some reason, every time I answer a question on YA tonight, a #*%&$* window pops up prompting me to "sign in to facebook".

Has Yahoo answers really done a dirty deal with Facebook in order to harass people into using it? As far as I'm concerned, Facebook is an atrocity, and I have no intention of ever making my personal information available to Mark Zuckerberg and his minions.

I have been answering questions on this site and contributing to the scene for about 5 years now... but if I have to shut down a "sign in to facebook" prompt every time I do it, then Sayonara, it's all over.

I'd rather not give up Yahoo Answers, but this is a bridge too far. Does anyone have any info on why this is happening?

  • What will the world be like in 100 years?

Considering how much change took place in human civilization between 1900 and 2000, what sort of world do you imagine existing by 2100? Will it be a greenhouse disaster with submerged coastlines and nations collapsing from food shortages and war? Will we have corporations on Mars? Robots that create perfect cocktails? Will progress leap forward like it did in the 20th, or will we slip backward into a new Dark Age? Will apes be our masters, as predicted by Homer Simpson? Are you optimistic or pessimistic? Some thoughts please. No need for an essay unless you feel like writing one.

  • "We're taking a breather"? I would prefer "We're exercising censorship"...?

At least that would be honest, don't you agree? Sometimes I can see why they have chosen to delete a question, but I must say it's frustrating to write a good answer for a question that is sensitive and controversial, only to find that you have wasted your time. Anyone else think they should offer a little more leeway? C'mon Yahoo answers, be brave, don't delete this question, you won't get sued... I have tried to post this question several times now, and if it breaches the rules in any way, the least you could do is email me and explain how...
