  • Marx and thesis, antithesis, and synthesis?

How does Marx use the dialectic in his analysis of capitalism? What drives social change in Marx’s view? Define “thesis,” “antithesis,” and “synthesis”

What were the changes that led to the emergence of capitalism, the bifurcation of classes, and the concentration of wealth in the hands of capitalists (bourgeoisie)?

Thesis questions are in my sociological theory book and they don't have any answers, I feel like it's important for me to understand them, but the teacher isn't using these questions and is barely teaching the class anyway, can someone help?

  • Why did Weber believe that science could not be an ethical or moral guide?

Why did Weber believe that science could not be an ethical or moral guide? Instead, from where could we get our ethical and moral directions, and what role does sociological imagination play in this? So for this question, think about sociological imagination in this narrow way about *debating and deciding* on moral and ethical directions before putting science to work. Mills says a lot about this.

I've started to answer this and I've read Mills about a hundred times and I still don't get the connection.

My understanding is that Weber believed that the universe was an infinite, constantly changing place and no universal truths could come out of it. He also found faults in the value-oriented action that science used. Science could not be an absolute truth and cannot be used as a moral compass.

He says instead that we should look at politics, into an open system that is inclusive, etc. But I lose the connection to Mills because from what I remember, he believed that the social scientist had a lot of jobs to do within the political sphere, but I don't remember or maybe I can't synthesize to make the information connect to the question.

Is it because the social scientist has a place in the political sphere that the sociological imagination is tied in?

Little blue plug from my break system in my 2003 Ford Escort zx2 fell out, what it is called to order it?

It looks like a rubber washer with a little stick that comes out the back. It's the blue piece on the left, it's missing from the piece on the right. What is it called? I went to Auto Zone and they didn't have a name for it or have it in stock.

  • Calculating speed of light using microwave?

Remove the paper plate carefully, it will be hot. You should see that the chips are melted in some places but not in others. Measure the distance between the “cooked” chocolate chips or marshmallows.

You have just measured half of the wavelength of the microwaves!

Now look for the frequency of the radiation used in the oven. There should be a tag with this information inside the oven, often on the frame of the door. A number followed by MHz is what you are looking for. The MHz stands for megahertz.

Calculate the speed of light using the relationship between wavelength, frequency and speed for electromagnetic radiation:

speed of light = wavelength x frequency

the inside of my microwave said VAC/Hz 120/60 so I thought it meant my microwave was at 60 Hz I don't know, my astronomy professor tossed this at us without any explanation other than what's here. The marshmallows that were cooked were 8 cm apart or .08 meters so I multiplied .08 * .0006 MHz and now I'm just confused.

  • How to get rid of green tint in hair?

I bleached my hair back in december to dye it blue. Unfortunately I had to move to italy and dye my hair black. As time went on I realized my black hair had a green tint to it. When we did lifted my hair to color it again when I got back in May, my hair had green left in it. We then used One and Only to remove it and it worked. However, when we put in the red semi permanent dye, my hair turned many colors (none red) including browns and when i tried to remove it, it turned green again. We then tried color zap a few weeks later, which did nothing but turn my hair more green. I tried one and only again and this time it didn't remove the green again. I don't know what to do.

I've been looking at tour companies like EF college break and such, but they all leave from the states and last longer than my spring break. I'm on break starting Friday the 8th and St. Patrick's Day is my last day before class, but I just have to be back in Florence before 4:30.

I was looking to go with a tour group because none of my roommates want to do Ireland for spring break.

    Does anyone have any suggestions?

  • Wacom Tablet Pen Control Questoin?

I don't know if it's always been like this or I've just turned into a massive idiot who has forgotten how to use her wacom tablet. Is there anyway to control when the pen writes? As of right now I can't control when it writes. It's constantly writing if it's anywhere near the pad. I thought there was a way to control it so it wouldn't write constantly, but it doesn't seem so and everything is just coming up as a huge scribble because I can't turn the pen off.

  • Family dilemma choosing between Australia and an internship at IBM?

I know this friend of mine whose family is having a big debate over this. It all started because the father has always had this dream of going to Australia. Well, they planned on going (using frequent flier miles) and then their child got an internship at IBM. Now they're asking him to take a 3 week vacation in the middle of his internship.

The father has been telling the son that he was selfish and that he was not thinking of the other people in the family. He says that the other people in the family have been crying and throwing up over the sadness of their family member not attending. He said that his son was choosing a job over his family. Choosing his "small interest" over their vacation.

The son just wants to get the entire work experience, he had no idea that when he was told they were going to Australia that he would have an internship. he's been broken up because his dad has told him that he's ruining the family. IBM said that it would be 3 weeks of unpaid vacation time.

Who do you think is wrong here? Should he give up the three weeks at the internship and go? Or should he take the whole internship?

  • Do first loves ever get back together or is completely done and over the first time?

I know the first thing you're thinking is i'm the crazy ex who wants him back, but it's not like that. We are friends right now. We love each other as friends, but I'm just asking as a generalization. After people in love break up, do they ever get back together? After the first break up can you ever get things to work?

  • My ex's actions are not following what he says. He doesn't love me, but he doesn't want me to go away?

My ex-boyfriend and I were on a break. We were deciding what was going on and what we were going through. Well Saturday he decided he didn't love me anymore and told me. He tells me that he knows for sure from the tips of his toes to the top of his head that he doesn't love me anymore, but his actions don't say the same.

He said he hasn't cleaned my stuff out of his room or put it away because it would be hard.

He touches me when we were talking he wanted me to lay on his chest and he put his arm around me.

He always wants me to hug him

When i asked him why he didn't love me he says he has reasons but he can't remember.

He doesn't want me to stop talking to him.

i just don't understand maybe i'm over thinking or is he contradicting himself?
