  • Police chain of commands?

I feel completely ignorant asking this. Even worse that I cannot find the terms to google it myself....

I need to know the chain of commands for an accused person to be released based on the police officer's offense/incident report.

The responding officer determines if an arrest/ticket needs to be issued. If ticketed the DA? Judge? Determines guilt. Correct?

If arrested...can the officer's superior officers dismiss charges? The judge (called whom) that comes to post bail? Then where? DA? Jury?

    Do I make sense?

  • Beer koozie sayings/where to buy?

I'm looking for new and original koozies to add to my thinning collection (seems after a good night "someone" always misplaces them).

I have googled....many people print on them but their selection is thin.

Does anyone know of a good website or saying to custom print on koozies?

I prefer long-neck zippered-style koozies but am not above a regular can fitting one.

    Thanks in advance!

  • Math word problem. Fractions/Percentages.?

Can somebody offer a better explanation as to how this answer was reached....thanks!

A paint company mixes it's paint with water to create more paint per gallon. They currently have ten gallon jugs which contain 10% water. How much water must they add to create a 80/20 mix of paint to water?

    1 gallon

    1.25 gallons (answer)

    1.5 gallons

    1.75 gallons

    2 gallons

    Explanation of Answer:

Currently the mixture is 90% paint, 10% water or 9 gallons of paint for every 1 gallon of water.

For the company to create an 80% / 20% mix, the company must add 1.25 gallons to their current 10 gallon mixtures. This will create 2.25 gallons of water for every 11.25 total gallons. This results in a 2.25/11.25 or 20% water mix.

  • Purpose of an alumni club?

I understand they are a group of people who graduated from a common institution (sometimes buy in). However, what are they? What is their goal? What do they do? Why would someone want to buy into it? What majors typically join? What else do I need to know?

    Thanks in advance.

P.S. I have "googled" and my results were weak. I'd like the knowledge of those with experience. : )

  • Things to do with preteen girls...and a toddler boy...cheap!?

I am having 2 preteen girls (8 and 13) come over and spend the night. I will still have my son (2) there as well. I am 24 (female) and while not old...not "hip" either; and was not much of a girly girl nor innocent growing up. What can we do together (aside from watch movies) that would be fun for everyone?

****They love my son but I don’t want them to “babysit” of overly engage in him. I want it to be fun for everyone and things like makeovers seem to lose their appeal to the 13 year-old. If I ask them what they want to do they say “I don’t care/know.” Please help and thanks in advance.

  • Hair growth...length...non-african american.?

Okay so I want to grow my hair longer and it seems to have reached the middle of my back and paused. I KNOW THAT THERE IS NO MAGICAL PILL/SHAMPOO TO MAKE MY HAIR GROW. However I also know the growth rate is advanced with proper diet and care. Problem is all products I have seen such as vitamins and shampoos (with oils and such to maintain good hair) are for ladies of color who have completely different hair types than most nationalities.

So my question is had anyone who is not of African descent used any hair growing product? If so what was the result.

    Thanks in advance.

  • How can I convince my boyfriend to go to the dentist?

Okay, I know this question has been asked before and I read the responses. Problem is my guy is a little different. He went to the dentist about 3 years ago and had 2 failed root canals. He then concluded "Dentists cause more harn than good." Problem is his teeth are kinda yucky. He brushes them as normal but I can see a cavity forming on his front incisor. I have tried booking him an appointment where he had to pay for not showing up (No Biggie, he makes good money....paid the bill, didn't care), not putting out when his breath stinks (Brushed, gum, etc... for days then I gave in), threatened to break up with him (He says it's shallow of me because he loves me and would respect my wishes [wonderful right?]). He's a good guy but needs some help with his pearly whitish grayish yellows! Thanks in advance!

  • Family issues- baby due very soon...

Okay very long story short. My ex (together 3 years) and I have a beautiful baby boy on the way (a week!). He left me soon after discovering I was pregnant (fight, not because I was pregnant) and did not support me during the pregnancy in any way- in fact he was quite a jerk.

Now he wants to come back for the baby's delivery. I have made it clear if he comes back it will be about the baby and not us because there is obviously a lot of hurt and I don't need the stress/distraction right now.

Problem- My mother is going crazy mad. She feels (and I can see her point) that he is a deadbeat and should not be welcommed back for "dessert" or the finished product and should not be in the delivery room or around the baby or me. She also feels she has been there to support me and that by allowing him to come I am "slapping her in the face." I agree but feel he is the child's father and someday I would regret not allowing him to partake in the experience.

Question- How do I get my mom to understand she needs to not like but support and be cordial (not friends) with my ex for my sake and the babys. I do not want to have to choose sides or deal with their chaos. Do I warn him or her feelings?

Note- she is not an easy person to convince. I would also appreciate you keep your foul comments to yourselves about him being a POS, her needing to mind her own etc...

  • Anyone's opinion of the "Your Baby Can Read" software?

I am about to have my first child (8 days) and saw an info-mercial on the "Your Baby Can Read" software. I am interested but have doubts as well.

    Do you think it works?

Do you think it pushes the child too much (It starts at 3 months but seems fun like Sesame Street)?

    Any other ideas/opinions?

  • Forgiveness- Soon to be spouses family?

Okay my guy and I have been together 3 years. Problem- his family is very self-centered and hate me. I have always done overly nice things for them without asking for repayment. However our relationship has had a few fallings (verbal disputes) as most have and were on the verge of break-up a time or two. They constantly say mean things about me and act nice to my face. We have a child on the way and they in no way shape or form have been supportive but insist I "trapped him" and am "unfit for parenting." He assures me things will pass but I am having a really hard time dealing with their actions. I do not want to pull him away from his family or keep him in the middle. I want to talk to them about it but have nothing nice to say. I need to find out a way to forgive them for their actions. How do I do this with so much anger and pain between us?

    (B) If the ground temperature is 80 degrees F, write a formula for the temperature T (down n) in terms of n, if n is in thousands of feet.
