Do a majority of people despise the lover? And more specifically, are women more likely than men to judge and despise a woman lover?
A female friend says I am displaying a low opinion of women by believing most women strongly condemn another woman who gets involved with a married man. I am less interested in whether the paramour caused the marriage to break, I can read other questions and answers about that. My interest is in knowing if there is a generalized strong negative opinion and if that opinion is stronger on one of the sexes towards the same sex.

the earth rotates in an elliptical path around the sun, one of the poles (N or S) has to get to a further point away from the sun than the other during the path during its winter (solstice).

6 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoIf you were blind to a single color, which one would it be and why?
For example, if you were color blind to green, all plants would look like shades of grey, not too cool. but if you were blind to blue, you miss out on blue skies and ocean colors....
5 AnswersOther - Cultures & Groups1 decade agoHow can we see so far into the past by looking at the stars? the speed of light should limit how far back!?
We hear that we can see a time close to the bing bang, but what I do not understand is: if an image of the universe's past has been traveling from a point A to a point B, where we are, the distance A-B must be so large that the celestial bodies had to travel away from each other at speeds that approach the speed of light for those images to be reaching us now.
5 AnswersAstronomy & Space1 decade agoIf there was a god, why does s/he/it allow people to live lifes of missery?
babies are born sick, they grow up into kids that are abused and hungry, and live miserable lives? - this is more a sign of a "bad" god, a god that is very selfish and only cares about being "loved" by people on their knees, or no god at all.
Do not tell me these people will be "rewarded" in heaven because that only implies this "god" is fine allowing all this missery to happen.
25 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agois anyone surprised that torture was used on prisoners?
there is a long history of the use of torture. it appeals to some of the most hideous human instincts and attracts saddists who are looking for a job so they do not have to be serial killers.

8 AnswersOther - Society & Culture1 decade agowhy is it that power corrupts?
politicians are like diapers and they need to be changed often for much the same reason. they become primadonas and think they are above the rest, start to bilk the system for their own use and acting arbitrarily towards others.

14 AnswersFIFA World Cup (TM)2 decades agoIs there a good reason for a business to create inferior designs or products in general?
I came to the conclusion that the answer is yes when I was buying my first stroller for my baby son. There were two models side by side that looked very similar in construction but one was $10 more expensive. The only difference I could see was that the patter and colors of the cheaper made it really ugly. We could afford to pay the extra $10 so we bought the nicer one. But for other people the inferior design may have to do because they are looking for the cheapest. This way the manufacturer gets more money from those willing/able to pay a bit more and thus maximize profits for basically the same product.
3 AnswersOther - Society & Culture2 decades agoWhat is it that we call "chemestry" between two people?
I have found that it is often the case that if I like someone on first impression chances are very good that the person also liked me. It is like a certain affinity can develop between two people, but why? I also find that the people that I feel have good chemistry with me are bound to get the "benefit of the doubt" from me in judging their actions.

Think about this one. We are "kings or sorts" of our little kingdoms...
10 AnswersOther - Society & Culture2 decades agoIs it better to go with the more interesting work and people or w/ the job that stands to make me more money?
One job is doing projects that are exciting and with people I like. The other is also interesting but something I have already done, but in the long run it gives me ownership and therefore more money. The money to me is a vehicle for more freedom.
