  • How to stop an ear piercing from healing super fast?

I've had my ears pierced for 4 months. They're fully healed and not infected, but every time I change my studs, the back of my piercing closes super fast! The hole part of it is fine, but the skin at the back closes within seconds. It hurts a little to pop the skin every single time I change earrings, so does anyone have any method for at least making the skin close just a little slower? I'd like to just able to change earrings without hurting myself all of the time. Thanks!

  • Is 2 months okay to change earring studs? Swelling help?

I got my ears pierced a month ago and I know the waiting period before changing out of the starters are 6 weeks minimum. I was wondering if I wait 2 months, is it okay to change the starters to a different pair of light studs? Also, my right ear is still swollen, is that normal? (It's not infected and does not hurt when I touch it) How can I make my ear...more normal?

  • Piercing Ears...White Gold or Stainless Steel?

I want to get my ears pierced, but I really don't know which one I should get. The different with white gold is that it's about $10 more expensive than the stainless steel. Since I'm paying for it myself, I want to get the stainless steel, but I don't know if that'll give me an ear infection or not. And if it helps, I'm going to Claire's (and yes, I know I should go somewhere else, but Claire's is the most convenient place for me so please don't comment on this part.) I've read that stainless steel for ear piercings is just as good, but I just want to double check. What do you guys think?

  • Physics Help! Electric fields/plates!?

A 1.4x10^-5 C test charge is between two charged plates separated by 5.4 cm. The plate on the left has a charge of 5.0x10^-2 C. The one on the right has a charge of -5.0^10^-2 C.

    a) What is the electric field strength when the particle is 2.0 cm from the left plate?

    b) ... 2.0cm from the right plate?

  • Monitor/PC Ports Problems?

I got a BSOD a little earlier and having seen the exact same thing at school, I simply restarted the computer without worrying. Problem: my pc ports have all of a sudden stopped working. The monitor will turn on, but because there is no input signal from the pc, it goes to sleep. The keyboard and mouse also will not work. During all this, the pc is on and the fans running, but I can't fix anything because none of the pc ports are working so I can't access anything. Any suggestions on how to fix this? I've restarted the computer multiple times and replugged in everything and nothing hasw worked...thanks!

  • "Relative To." Please Explain?

I'm currently taking physics and this is confusing the heck out of me.

Can you explain the words "relative to?"

    For example, explain:

    "relative to the ground"

    "relative to the river"

    "relative to the air"

  • Yamaha vs. Jupiter. Which is better?

I'm picking between a Jupiter flute and a Yamaha one. They're about the same price, but I don't know which is better. Yamaha is a well-known name, but some say Jupiter is better. Below are the links to the two. Can someone tell me which would be worth the money?
