  • Dance Floor with Tables on Either Side - Difficult to Mingle?

Hi everyone! We're currently in the process of deciding on our wedding venue and have narrowed it down to a top 3 (out of 15 total). The one my fiancé and I leaning towards has a somewhat long/narrow ballroom. It's plenty big to fit all of our guests (we're thinking around 100 guests total), but the dance floor would be placed in the center of the ballroom with banquet tables on either side.

Does anyone think it would be problematic to have guests separated across the dance floor? My mother is concerned it'll be difficult to mingle with guests on the other side of the ballroom without having to cross the dance floor, which may be hard to cross if there is a good amount of people dancing.

There will be room for a pathway to the other side of the ballroom next to the dance floor, about the width of a hallway - but is that enough space for guests to feel like they can easily mingle with guests on the other side? I can see how a large square ballroom with a dance floor in the front and banquet tables around it in a U-shape would likely be more ideal because it would be easier for guests to mingle.

Probably a silly concern, but I'm curious what everyone else thinks on this! I'm curious if others think this is big enough deal to possibly select a different venue over!

  • Is it normal/legal/okay for an employer to not pay for a holiday or force vacation days when the office is closed?

Recently started a new job and part of the contract was no paid holidays until you've reached 90 days. That being said, Thanksgiving will be an un-paid day for me. Additionally, the entire office is closed from Dec 25 - Jan 1. If you have vacation days available, they take 2 away from you for that time and the rest of the days are considered paid holidays. If you don't have any vacation days available (because you haven't reached 90 days yet), then all of those days are just un-paid (including the holidays). In my case, I won't have 90 days by then either so I'll be un-paid for like a solid week in December. My co-worker started the same day as me, but he negotiated immediate vacation days in his contract - so in his case, he'll be forced to use 2 of his vacation days during that time because the office is close. Does this seem normal/legal/okay?

What are some of the longest, most extensive, and painful death scenes in horror movies?? A list of them is preferred, and perhaps the year the movie was made... current (2000-2010) examples would be best.

  • I'm looking for a song..?

I don't have much details about it, I can hardly even remember lyrics & I don't know who it's by.

In the song it mentions somehow how the guy singing is sick of being alone or by himself, or something.

The artist is one guy, but he's got a name that makes it sound like it's a group singing it.

Any help? Sorry I don't have more specifics. :/

  • Finding the area of an irregular object?

I wanna find the area of an irregular shape.

Am I supposed to split the irregular up into simple shapes I know, like rectangles and trianges, and find the area. Then add all the areas together to find my total area?

    OR

Am I supposed to find the perimeter of each simple shape and then add those together?

    OR

Am I completely off in both of my theories? If so.. how am I supposed to do it?

  • What's a good Women's Deordorant?

It's so hard to find good deordorant for women. Most of the deordorant available doesn't do anything, just smells like flowers.

I would like a deororant that stops perspiration, but doesn't use bad aluminum ingredients. And one that doesn't have too strong of a scent; i like to wear perfume, and I want everyone to smell my perfume not my deordorant.

    Any recommendations?
