  • Trying to figure out whats causing my discomfort.?

Before I explain, I went to the hospital Wednesday and got no answers, sent home with a prescription of ibuprofen and a diagnosis for chest pain with no known cause. I started having some chest discomfort Tuesday night. I went to the hospital Wednesday morning, they did an ekg and chest xray both normal. The chest discomfort is an achy and heavy feeling all across my chest from left all the way to right shoulder, from bottom of breast bone to base of neck. The heavy achy feeling is also across the whole upper back. I havent been taking the ibuprofen much because it hasn't helped at all. I do have some other symptoms but i dont know if any of them are related at all. I'm extremely fatigued. I have been feeling slightly bloated but also on my period. I've been burping a lot since yesterday. Starting to have a little bit of gas pain in my belly, not too bad. Also as of tonight my right shoulder and neck have been bothering me more. my nosw is stuffed up which started tonight(could be a cold). The achy feeling has gotten a little worse in my upper back but my chest just feels more heavy than achy. I do plan on going back considering how uncomfortable i am and it doesn't seem to be getting better. I just want to know whats going on and not be brushed off again at the hospital. So im just looking to see if any one else has dealt with this, what it was and what i should ask the doctors to look into so they dont just send me home again.

    Thank you!

  • 3-4 year olds Growth spurts?

Does anyone have any information on when a child normally goes through a growth spurt? I know about infant toddler growth spurts but haven't found much about preschoolers.

My oldest is 3 will be 4 in March and is already quite big for his age. He is healthy and not at all over weight he is just very tall. He is around 41 pounds and probably closing in on 42+ inches. He isn't a picky eater at all and eats normal portion sizes not too much not too little. But the past three days he has been asking for more food at meal time and with in an hour of having a meal(breakfast, lunch or dinner) he is saying he is hungry again. He has snacks between meals but even that isn't satisfying his hunger.

I know that being hungry more often is a sign of a growth spurt but he has no other signs that that is what it is, from what I understand of a growth spurt. I do not want this to become a habit of over eating for him. So how do I differentiate the two, a growth spurt or overeating for a whole other reason? Is this an age children normally go through a growth spurt. He is 3 years 10 months old.

    Thank you for any help.

  • Outdoor Iceskating what to wear?

I am taking my some who is 3 1/2 ice skating for the first te this coming Sunday. We are going to the outdoor ice rink I'm the Boston Commons. The weather as of right now for Sunday should be a high of 46° that could obviously change.

It gets much colder than that around here so 46° degrees you don't really need to wear layers in. I know I certainly won't need layers however we will be spending quite sometime outside. 4-5 hours outside which I have never done with my children, during the winter. A couple hours here and there but usually with periods of time spent inside. This time we will be outside for that long straight.

We will get lunch first then go ice skating and then we will be taking a walk through the Commons as it gets dark to see all the Christmas lights and Christmas tree.

I know I wont need layers but as my son isn't used to spend that much time out while it is cold plus the ice skating. What would you recommend I dress him in?

  • 22 month old never gets full?

My son is 22 months he will be 2 in November. He is around 30lbs and 33in. And he never gets full.

He can out eat a grown man anyday. I have to distract so he forgets about food. If I kept food in front of him all day then he would eat all day. I know this is not normal. He eats 3 full meals a day and 2-3 snacks but it ends up being like 6 meals because he will have multiple servings.

He can easily eat 2 sandwhiches for lunch with a side of fruit and still want more. The other night he at his aunts house he had 4 plates of rice and beans and chicken for dinner. Then she gave 3 plates of eggs and toast for breakfast and he still wanted more. He just does not get full.

I guess he has always been like this but ive noticed it alot more lately. I plan on bringing it up with his doctor but is this something I should be worried about? His brother is 3 1/2. 45lbs and 42in and he doesnt even eat as much as his little brother.

  • Help. My 3 year olds finger is stuck.?

My 3 year old was drinking juice out of my plastic water jug. The opening is a snap cap and the whole is smaller then a soda bottle opening. He stuck his finger it and its stuck. I unscrewed the cover from the cup so its just the cover stuck on his finger.

I dont know what to do. He doesnt want me to touch and he wants to take a nap. I tried soap and water and he freaked out on me, I then tried baby oil but only got as far as putting the oil on his finger and inside on his finger and the cover. He doesnt want me to tough it. Should i let him nap and then try again or try something else?

Or should i just bring him to the hospital and see if they can get it off?

Thank you s much for any fast responses

  • Breasts leaking? not sure why?

I have two kids and breastfed both but only for 6 weeks with my oldest and 2-3 weeks with my youngest due to my lack of milk production. As soon as i stopped with in days i was completely dried up.

My youngest will be 19 months on the 17th. I have the Paragard IUD, theres little chances im pregnant but my periods this past month have been out of wack so to say. I plan on taking a pregnancy test soon.

With that said a few weeks ago i noticed a drop on my nipple of clear/whitish fluid. I didnt think any thing of it at the time but now that my periods have been whacky i thouht about. Today i squeases my boob to see if anything would come out and sure enough more whitish clear fluid came out.

My question is does anyone know if there is any other causes besides pregnancy that would cause my boobs to leak?

If i was pregnant i would be around 7-8 weeks, I never produced colostrum that early. Is that even possible?

    Thanks in advance.

  • possibly pregnant? probably stupid question?

I know eveyone asks these questions and i know the only way to tell for aure ia a pregnancy test but im going to ask anyways.

i have the paraguard IUD have had it for a year and 3 months, i have a 3 year old and 1 yo. My periods are regular every 28 days once in a while off by a day or 2. My last period came April 15 th ended 19th. I had intercourse the 21/22 and 30th. My period is not due until the 12/13th of May so in a week. If it does not come i will take a PT.

Maybe im just freaking out because ive read stories of getting pregnant with Paraguard but for some reason i have a feeling im pregnant. Ive also been cramping for the past 2 days which i dont usually cramp until im already on my period. Also i have been constipated and the only other time in my life i have been constipated was in early pregnancy with my first child.

I could just be going crazy hut what do you think? Just looking for opinions on likely it is and if any one else whose had an IUD for a year + has gotten pregnant?

  • potty trained 3 year old accidents/regressing?

My oldest son is 3 years 2 months old. I had him fully potty trained at 2 1/2 years old. We moved a month later and he regressed had accidents all the time, so i put him back in diapers.

I started to potty train him again in February a month before he turned 3 by taking diapers away all together. At first he was having accidents at daycare and and one or two during the weekend at home. Then he stopped having accidents at daycare and at night.

Well now its almost May, he still has no accidents in daycare or at night but he is having accidents almost daily usually not during the week most of the time and multiple times during the weekend. Some weeks is better then others but this weekend has been horrible. He goes on the potty everytime i tell him to but hes had at least 6-8 accidents since yesterday.

I dont know what to do anymore. At first i figured accidents were normal but now it just seems like he shouldnt be having tjis many accidents. He absolutely refuses to diapers/pullups he takes them off as soon as i put one on. And he knows when he has to go because hes always telling me when he has to pee or poo. I just dont understand how to help him to stop having accidents.

Any suggestions would greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • 17 month old and Toddler bed?

So heres the situation. My 17 month old had started to climb up the crib but couldnt fully get over it. He also is always getting his legs stuck in between the bar to the point it hurts him for me to ty and get his leg unstuck. So i bought a toddler bed for him. I switched my oldest to a toddler bed at 14 months no pronlems. Well we are having problems.

He rolls right out of the bed and hits the floor, the bed rails arent long enough and he rolls so much he falls right off the bed. I do not want to put him back in the crib because i dont him to climb out and fall and get hurt and i dont want one his legs getting really stuck.

For now i put the crib mattress on the floor and he rolls right off of it but its only like 4 inches to the floor and he stays asleep.

What should i do? Should i keep the matress on the floor for now or is there something else i can do?

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

  • 16 1/2 month old with diarrhea?

My 1 year and 4 month old son has diarrhea. He has had the diarrhea for 6 days now.

He has never had diarrhea before. He has no fevers or any other symptoms of illness. He's happy and running around playing with his brother. Although he is teething and it may just be related to that.

I contacted his pediatrician and they said just wait it out for a few more days if it doesn't go away go back. Well his daycare provider now does not want me to send him to daycare until its gone.

what should i do? what do you think is the cause of his diarrhea? i can provide more info if need be. Should i bring him back to his doctors?

    Thank you for any help

  • Toddler: "i cant" phase?

My son will be 3 March 8. He's very smart and likes to do most things on his own.

Well any ways, he's been going through a major "why" phase this past month and as much as it'd irritating some times I know its normal. But now he has a new thing going on.

In the last week or 2 he has started saying "I can't" when asked to do simple tasks that I know he can do and that he's done before he just doesn't want to do it. Like this morning we were eating breakfast, he got out of his chair and started playing on the floor. I asked to get back in the chair and finish eating his food. He looked at me and said "I can't". I told he could and asked to get back in the chair again and he still said he can't.

I don't know how to handle this phase or how to get him out of it.

Any advice any one can give me on how to break him of this and what to do when he says he can't? Its very much appreciated Thank you.

  • The Fresh Beat Band clothing?

My sons absolutely love the fresh beat band. Well my aunt bought us tickets for christmas to go see the fresh beat band live in concert in March. I was hoping to find outfits similar to the out fits the band wears on the show to dress my sons and my friends daughter up as the fresh beat band for the concert.

I was wondering if anyone knew any websites or stores that sold similar clothing as the clothing they wear or if you know anyone who sells online that has made the outfits?

    Thanks for any help

  • car seat or booster seat?

My oldest son is 2 years 7 months old. He currently weighs 38lbs and is 38 inches tall.

I don't know the height his convertable far seat but his shoulders aren't yet over the last shoulder holes so I know he's not to tall and the weight limit is 40lbs. So for now he still fits his harnessed car seat.

I know that they should be harnessed until 4 years old and 40lbs but I don't know the height they should be as well before switching to a high back booster. I know my son is going to be too tall and over 40lbs before 4 years old probably even before he is 3.

If this is the case is there a cheap, safe harnessed car seat that will fit him until he is 4 or because of his size do I need to switch to a high back booster when he no longef fits his car seat and is that safe to do so?

Any information any one can give me will be very much appreciated, thank you!

  • 2 year old ate apple core?

My 2 year old(30 months) loves apples. He doesnt like them cut up so i let him eat them whole. I usually take them away when they get close to the core.

Well tonight just in the last hour, i gave him and apple. He still had a decent amount of the apple left so i went to the bathroom because i had to go and while i was in there filled up the tub for him and his brother. Well when i came back out the whole apple was gone. He hadnt moved and it wasnt on the table or the floor, i checked the barrel and he didnt throw it away either. So i take it he ate the core as well.

Hes never eaten the core before and i tried to google it but couldnt find anything.

Is it bad that he ate the core? What can happen? Sorry, i know i sound like a nut but i just want to make sure its safe and that he wont get sick from it.

    Thank you
