Taoism says that every thing in creation consists of the pairs of opposites Yin and Yang. Yin represents darkness and Yang represents light.
2 AnswersReligion & Spirituality6 years agoWhy so many "end of the world" predictions failed?
Religious predictions are intuitive guesses. Even scientific guesses
fail in many cases.
Let us consider a simple case. You have a million Dollars
in a bank account. You are only spending and not crediting
any money. If you take your average monthly expenditure,
you can calculate that the amount will be over in, say,
X months. But there can be some heavy purchases, and your
scientific prediction may fail.
Can science predict earthquakes or hurricanes? Can medicine predict
end of a human life?
What I want to say is that an exceptionally large number
of persons are predicting that the end is near. How near
it is - will it be in one year, ten years - no one can
be accurate. Remember that end of the world is philosophically
the most complex and complicated topic.

4 AnswersPhilosophy9 years agoDo these lines still have a meaning or purpose?
The following lines are translated from a medieval text written in India:
"When you go beyond wealth, life sets you free.
Beyond wealth lies a relationship with life.
You set on to discover the undiscovered."

Why most of the science inventions are by men only?
Modern psychologists accept the existence of more than
one faculty of mind:
"Our two minds .... One is an act of the emotional
mind, the other of the rational mind. In a very real
sense we have two minds, one that thinks and one that
feels" (Daniel Goleman, Emotional Intelligence,
Bloomsbury Publishing, London, 1996, page 8). This
rational mind is also called the faculty of logic and
reason.

Emotion has usually, in the European- American tradition, been seen as the opposite of reason; the definitions provided in the Oxford English Dictionary emphasize emotion as agitation, perturbation, and feeling or affection — as distinguished from cognitive or volitional states of consciousness. Philosophically this split became entrenched through the thought of Rene Descartes, with his famous ‘I think, therefore I am’. Emotion has thus come to be associated with the body the way reason has been associated with the mind.

The rational mind is connected with engineering. That part of brain works dominantly in men.

1 AnswerOther - Society & Culture9 years agoDid ancient European Aryan tribes enter India and created Indo-European race?
Despite the propaganda of Adolf Hitler and the posturing of white supremacist groups in the United States, the true Aryan nation is to be found not in the woods of Idaho but in the words of ancient India.
The word Aryan comes from Sanskrit, the sacred and carefully preserved language of the Vedas, the oldest scriptures of Hinduism. Arya, the Sanskrit word, is not a racial designation but a term of respect, meaning "excellent, worthy, honorable, noble" or "lord, master, friend." Before a person's name it is used like "Sir," as in Aryaputra or Aryakanya.
Sanskrit is of great interest to linguists and historians, because it is the oldest preserved language of the Indo-European family.

Indian maternal DNA is generally similar right across the country indicating that the mass of population has been in place there for a long period. It was also found that the Haplo group R1a gene previously associated with Indo-Europeans is also found in significant amounts in certain tribal populations, and may have originated in India.

1 AnswerWords & Wordplay1 decade agoWhat is meant by parliament of crows?
If members of a parliament make a lot of noise, not allowing a resolution to be made, then the situation can be figuratively called "a parliament of crows".
In Swedish, it's called "kråkriksdag", which is roughly translated as "crow parliament". Old folklore told of groups of crows essentially holding court over members of their flock that had committed offenses. If they decide against the "defendant" crow, then the rest of the flock swoops down on it and kills it. This is usually referred to as "murder of crows".
