  • I just watched "The Mist". Yeah. SPOILER?

I just got done watching the movie, and the ending... oh, the ending *slowly shakes head*... it's driving me to write this. First and foremost, I don't know if I have ever been so shocked after finishing a movie. The ending was so awful that it made me angry. I am so flipping angry right now. There are movies where endings like this make perfect sense and even enhance the movie. An example would be Blood Diamond. I won't tell why it's so sad, but the ending had to happen. It made such an amazing point, but this movie was just one of many survival movies, but a very good one, unlike so many others. There was no good reason or point made with their deaths. Secondly, the ending did not make sense. Coming from the director who directed the most highest rated movie of all time, Shawshank Redemption, I was really disappointed when I thought about how impossible it would have been for those people to not hear so many giant tanks, helicopters, and gunshots and explosions. What the h***? On top of that, within minutes of running out of gas, the guy who had been so levelheaded during the entire movie, starts counting bullets. None of them bother to make sure there are no other vehicles around. I mean, s***, I would have risked it and made a run for it if it meant I could possibly live through it.

I in no way want all movies to be happy and make me feel good. That gets boring. I LOVED Blood Diamond and many others, but this movie just... I can't get over how awful and pointless the ending was. For those of you who have seen this movie, I hope you can understand my need to vent about it. It had so much potential. It was very good, but could have been so much better. What do you guys think about it?

  • What is the name of this book?

I've been looking for this book for a long time. I read it some years ago when I was in grade school. It's a children's or teen's book and it's sort of a western. I can give a lot of details, but none that let me find it by googling it. The main character was a girl who owns some sort of bed-and-breakfast. A shady guy shows up and stays at the bed-and-breakfast, which freaks her out. His name is Morgan and she eventually learns that he is actually a good guy and is trying to stop some men from doing something bad in her town. He's also an orphan who wants to help other orphan children out, and in the end, I think they turn the bed-and-breakfast into an orphanage. Can anyone help me?

  • How much trouble can someone get into for this?? Please read it. I need someone who knows a little about law!?

A girl I became good friends with this school year has this boyfriend, Mark(not really his name), that she's told me a lot about. Apparently, he has anger issues and freaks out about the most pointless things, like one time, she happened to mention some guy in her school wanting to join the navy because Mark had expressed his desire to, and he immediately began accusing her of having a thing with him and kind of went off on her. That was while they were talking, not dating. She had had a barely-even-noteworthy past with the guy, and she had already told Mark all about it, so there was no reason whatsoever for how Mark treated her.

Just last night, they had another fight. I think she might have told him about a party or two that she had gone to. One was with me. I had invited her, and so the whole time she was there with me, I watched over her and made sure I stayed pretty sober so that if something happened, I could do something about it. Keep in mind that I'm also a girl, so don't get the idea I'm some guy who got her to party with me.

At the party, she began taking too many shots for someone her size and I kept talking her out of doing more. I also got into a pretty big argument with some of the guys there because, while they were drunk, they tried to get her to let them take body shots off of her... while she had a boyfriend! So I talked her out of it, and then, when they got mad at me, I told them off. Another thing, she eventually began getting really sick because she wasn't aware that you shouldn't drink while taking antibiotics, and guess who stayed in the bathroom with her and took care of her for hours? My ex-boyfriend, who had just apologized for how he treated me after our horrible break up, helped me, and he was really awesome about it.

Now, you had to know about all that in order to really understand the situation that popped up just last night/very early this morning. Mark took her phone from her, and at 11:36, he started sending me really really bad texts. I've never met this guy. I've only been on the phone with him for about 10 minutes one time because he took the phone from my friend when I was talking to her. In the texts, he sent things like, and please don't get me in trouble for this, but, it was, "Naw b**** go f*** yourself you deserve what you get." and "It's Ricky b****. You aren't talking to (her name) anymore. Don't get that s*** twisted. She don't f*** with d****** f****** wh****." and "You heard me you cousin f****** back woods pice of s*** no one cares about your g**d*** problems." and "Your a f****** drunk b**** that's what. You ain't got the right to ask me questions." These were in response to me saying "What's wrong?" or "What's going on?"

He scared the crap out of me, so I called my ex-boyfriend/close friend because I was shaking and everything. My ex, John (not his name), offered to call my friend for me to see who would pick up. We wanted to talk to my friend to see what was going on. He called, she answered, and all he could hear was her and Mark fighting in the background. He called again, Mark answered, and John basically told him to leave me alone yada yada yada. When John asked why he said those things to me, all Mark said was "I can say whatever the f*** I want to her." They hung up and I got a call from my friend that I ignored. I listened to the voicemail though. He threatened to kill me if I ever spoke to my friend again. Then he proceeded to threaten to kill John, and then threatened to rape and kill my mother right in front of me. I was ready to call the cops, but I called another friend instead, Sarah, because she knew Mark way more than I did. She told me about Mark's bad family situation and about his mental anxiety/anger issues. He went to rehab for a week for them. She texted my friend and got texts from Mark instead that said just as bad things to her as they did me, except that in one of the texts, he told Sarah that he had killed my friend, and when she asked if he was serious, he said yes and told how he did it. Not. Funny. We were extremely close to calling the cops at that point and we threatened to, and I think he realized the how seriously we were actually taking him (Duh! Who wouldn't take that seriously??), so he told us not to and said she was not dead. That's all he said, but even still, we held off until we knew we should be hearing from her, which was this morning.

According to my friend today, he was just trying to scare us, but what kind of trouble could he get into for something like that? I need help. Please. He's 17. Tell me what I could do to him legally.

  • I'm trying to figure out what the name of a foreign band I heard is! Help?

It's an english speaking foreign band and the lead singer is a guy with a deep voice. It's not Rammstein and the band isn't Japanese or Chinese. I don't think it's German either. When I heard it, it sort of reminded me a little of the band Theory of a Dead Man because it seemed to be in the same kind of genre. The drum beats were pretty complicated. Can you please name some bands that you know of like this?

  • My friend wants to become a SWAT officer, but doesn't really know what he'd be getting himself into. Help?

I want him to be aware of all the cons to becoming an officer, like what kind of education you have to have, training, work experience, risks you'd have to be willing to take, how much sacrifice, etc.

  • Is my guy friend a little too close to his best friend?

First of all, I'm a girl. My best friend, who is a guy and who we will call Jake, recently admitted to me that he liked me. I sort of like him too, but there are complications. The main complication would be his best friend, who we will call John. He and his friend just seem a little too close to be normal to me. In asking this question, I want to know whether I'm thinking correctly.

The main thing that bothered me was the time that he said (before he liked me I think) that no one would ever be closer to him than John and that the only thing a girlfriend/wife could provide that John couldn't was sex. Maybe I misheard him, or maybe he's changed his mind since then, but that's what I got out of what was said.

Secondly, before he finally started standing up for himself and saying no, his friend would use him as his chauffeur while he, his sister, and his girlfriend would get drunk. Jake would drive them around everywhere and use his gas money... sober. Yeah, who does that? In fact, he never seemed to mind much, seeing as he never actually said anything to his friend about it.

Another thing I want to call to attention is that when Jake got drunk with John, his sister, and his girlfriend, John took his girlfriend into the next room and had sex with her. Jake was not perturbed at all. He saw nothing wrong with it, because they're "brothers" and they're extremely close like that.

Lastly, he has stated many times that he is closer to his "brother" than he is his actual family. I think that's odd, but it's not just what he says, it's also the way he talks about him. It just sounds... a little obsessive. I NEVER talk about my friends as much as he does.

  • Would you suggest that girls avoid dating guys in high school?

Let's be honest, guys, for the most part, tend to look at the physical aspect in relationships at this age. Girls, on the other hand, tend to want a real relationship.

I'm a girl, and it's really frustrating for me because every guy I consider dating is annoyingly persistent about getting physical. I've had a guy admit that he would make out with me as soon as a good moment came along, and by a good moment, he meant after a good flirt or something of the sort, which could be as soon as the first date or earlier. I was immediately turned off. I just wanted to get to know him. I don't want to even think about getting physical with people I'm not dating. I feel like every guy wants to shove his tongue down my throat at any chance they get.

Another guy I dated only dated me because he wanted to get physical. Even as a sophomore in high school, he still hadn't ever been kissed, so he took advantage of the fact that I wanted to date him.

Guys in high school make me want to saw their penises off. No offense to the guys who are actually interested in real relationships. I'm just so annoyed.

  • What is it with religious people?

I've been around a ton of religious people and quite a few non-religious people. Coming from experience, the religious individuals tend to be the more aggressive and disrespectful. My friends are always trying to get me to go to church with them and I know it's because they want me to convert to their religion. I've had a guy who wouldn't date me because I was not christian. I've just had too many ridiculous situations where the religious people are the ones who make them ridiculous in the first place. I've never been in a situation where non-religious were too aggressive or rude.

Another thing. I can honestly say that I have only met one true christian. All the others say they're "religious", but then they'll turn around and get drunk at parties or say nasty things about someone else. Religious people baffle me. It's like they want to make themselves believe that they're christian and they're going to heaven, even though they obviously aren't.

What is wrong with these people? Why are they so close minded? I have my own opinions, but i would like to hear what others have to say.

  • Is it ok for parents to read their teen's texts?

I do want to hear your opinion, I would also like for parents to take this into consideration.

When I was a young teenager, I was dumb, I'll admit. I went through a huge hormone tycoon and started talking about things with guys that I shouldn't have, though I never did anything. I had a phone at the time and I took advantage of it. At some point though, I grew out of it a little. I had a boyfriend that I really liked, but I absolutely did not want to have sex. Yes, I would flirt and talk about explicit things, but I wouldn't put any of the more explicit things into action. One day, I started thinking and worrying that he would expect me to do things with him that I was not willing to do. Since my boyfriend was the type to act like he didn't want to do things while he really did, I had to first ask him what he expected out of me. Only then did I get a true answer, and only then I could tell him that I wasn't ready. That next morning, I woke up to find my phone gone. My mom had read my conversation I had with him and was extremely angry with me. Yes, she was being a parent, and it may seem ok to some of you, but I felt violated. I got into trouble for telling my boyfriend no. Never again have I seen my mother in the same light. She is an extremely snoopy person, and always has been. I will never trust her with personal information.

  • Where do movies and shows find logic in their sales?

Lately, I've noticed that they have removed online episodes of shows, which makes me pretty mad considering that I don't want to have to spend so much money buying them. It's honestly a waste. They are selling True Blood Season 1 in Blu-Ray for over $70. WHAT????? Why in God's name would I want to go buy that?? Maybe some people who sweat money can go buy that, but $70 can be used on SO many more important things in this economy. The sad thing about it is that these shows and movies that they sell for such high prices are not really worth the asking price. They didn't put that much money into making them. A much lower price could still give them a decent profit. The people who sell them need to take their thumbs out of their butts and pay attention to what's happening in the world. Who agrees?

  • Where can I find a good site that has geometric line art?

I'm doing a geometric project, and we have to draw a shape and have lines going through the figure to make the lines look like they're curving. I don't know how else to describe it.

  • My sister's friend got his girlfriend to chew her out while my sister's boyfriend was gone. please help!!?

My sister and her friend's girlfriend had a huge fight that only involved the girlfriend yelling. It was crazy since she really had no reason to. Her boyfriend told her a bunch of terrible stuff that wasn't true. Mysteriously, the toilets in my sister, her boyfriend, the guy who lied to his girlfriend, and another friend's apartment stopped working 2 days after the fight. I suspect the girlfriend might have had something to do with it or her lying boyfriend. What could they have done to them and how do you fix it?

  • Anybody who's seen The Uninvited, please help explain?

Ok. I understand the whole story of the movie, but what I don't understand is, if Anna's mom was sick and needed a bell to get people's attention, then why did you hear her speaking perfectly fine in the ending flashback of her death when Alex goes to see what she wants? Plus, what did Anna's old boyfriend mean by "Your mother warned me, but I didn't listen" when he snuck into her room with his back broken? What did she warn him of, and when did she warn him if she was dead?
