Theology that induces panic and paints God as angry, violent and retributive is...bad. Theology that presents God the Father as being someone completely different from Christ is bad. However, theology that frees you to enjoy life in the contexts of a conscious union with God, divorced from a consciousness of sin is good. Theology that exalts the work of Christ, and through it reveals the Father to be supremely good, loving and compassionate is good. Theology that convinces you that you are fiercely and passionately loved by your eternal Father is good. Now, as oversimplified as that may be, use it to sort through the mountains of theological opinions that are constantly coming your way. "God is love" is always perfect theology.
