  • what happened: knee sprain suddenly worse?

I fell down the stairs about 10 days ago and sprained (I think) the ligaments on the inside of my knee (the MCL maybe). Pain was bad that day, but by the next day it wasn't that bad at all. Suddenly, about a week after the injury my knee really started to hurt and it has become a chore to walk. It feels weaker and stiff.

Do I have to go to the doc now? Prior to the sudden increase in pain, my plan was to give it 2 weeks of rest--as much as possible. Doctors almost never help me and it's a lot of time and effort to find and go see a provider

Pimlico is home to the Preakness-- I'm wondering if the smoking ban in Baltimore/MD includes the race track?

  • What is Human Achievement Hour?

And do you think it's hypocritical for people partaking in earth hour to use the internet to promote the anti-humanity "holiday"?

  • how do I minimize smell of cooking eggs?

I wake up pretty early and I like to make omelets in the morning. The problem is that they are so fragrant they sometimes wake up other members of my household. I use a pan with a top and have an exhaust fan near the stove, but what else can I do to reduce the smell of cooking eggs? Any ideas?

  • Which is the safest Caribbean island ?

for Americans (ex-pat or visiting) to live and work. Please consider frequency of tropical storms/hurricanes, crime rate, and political freedom/property rights.

I'd prefer English speaking and cheap, but I realize that is probably a stretch.

I beginning to think about relocating and so far it seems like Aruba, the Bahamas, or the Cayman islands are good candidates.

  • Which are the Most "rural" DC suburbs?

Moving to DC area for work in the city/ grad school in College Park MD. A country girl at heart, I'm looking for the most 'rural' (as rural as a burb of DC can get) neighborhood within a reasonable distance from the city. Alternatively, you may suggest suburbs that are the least ghetto. I am in my early 20's and single, so a young and hip area would be nice, but I'd rather live in the middle of nowhere than anywhere near a ghetto (I lived in Balti for a few years and even the nicest areas were too close to the ghetto for my comfort).

    Thanks.
