Mel.x.Mum of 5.x.
Hi!,Im Melissa...34 and Mum to 5 beautiful children, 4 Girls & 1 Boy <3 So have good experience in life be it from pregnancy, babies & toddlers, right to teens and the problems we face both medically & relationship wise in these times. I also run my own charity 'A VOICE FOR THE CHILDREN' on facebook..
Any other Mum's feel this way after having all your children?
Im 32 years of age and had my 5th child 4 months ago.I had previously had 4 girls so was very lucky in having a boy as our 'last child'
Now,I know with 5 children,I have more than my fair share and I greatly respect that there are people out there who are desperately ttc just one baby...However...Just recently I went from simply taking the pill as contraception to a more semi-permanent (3yrs at least) Implant method and to be honest, though neither my hubby or I at all plan on having any more children,I can't help feeling 'sad' (if that's the right word),that 'that phase'..I.E:Child-bearing phase of my life is now over??.
Has anyone else felt this way?...How did you handle it?...Does this feeling eventually go away??
Many Thanks for your experience & opinions..and plz..if you haven't anything good to say then kindly move on xx
7 AnswersParenting9 years agoYour thought's on Home Births?
Currently expecting my 5th baby..(After 4 girls..finally got a Boy yippee!).It will be my last baby and travelling to hospital when I go in to labour..handling the kids, transport etc etc is going to be one big nightmare..Therefore I am considering a 'Home Birth' for this final baby.
I am well aware of the pro's and cons but are interested in PERSONAL opinions..What are your feelings about home births?...Natural and less clinical?..or Selfish and irresponsible??
Everyone I speak to try to make me feel bad for even considering it..How I would never forgive myself if anything went wrong and I wasen't in hospital etc etc ''
13 AnswersPregnancy10 years agoSchool Bullying..What to do next?
In brief,My daughter, who is in Junior school, has been bullied by another girl her age for several months now.We have approached school and had several meetings where they explained different approaches they would take to try and resolve the situation..None yet to work!.
The girl's parents are the type that simply will not believe their daughter does ANYTHING wrong and have to some extent harrassed us too,,filing false police reports claiming I have threatened to beat her up (Im 18 weeks pregnant!) etc, approaching our daughter and calling her names in school..you name it!..
Now,After the summer break,it is still happening and I have informed the school that I now wish to take matters above them.Trouble is,our councils Anti-bullying officer is absolutely useless so in bypassing her,who can I go to for practical help in forcing the school to address this issue (In UK).
Any advice or personal experience welcome..Many Thanks xx
10 AnswersParenting10 years agoIn UK Law,What criteria is needed to take a civil injunction?
I have a situation with a very malicious and often violent family living close to us and was wondering under UK Law,What criteria has to be met for it to be worth pursuing a civil injunction?...Threats of violence?,Threats against my family and children,or violence that will ultimately effect them also??
Many Thanks in advance.
2 AnswersLaw & Ethics10 years agoAdult/Parent Loitering around my childs playground!?
To cut a long story short,My daughter is being seriously bullied by a girl at their junior school.Despite all our evidence and teacher witnesses,The girls mother insists that her child is innocent and has now (among many other strange things) has taken to loitering outside the school playground at break times, spying on the children most probably in the hope to prove us wrong??.
Anyway,my question is...Is there not a part of (UK) The child Protection Act that prohibits this?
Also,Though our daughter and the bully are only 7 and 8,and we are already working with the school to put a stop to it...if the bullying is so severe that my daughter is coming home nearly every day with cuts and large bruises (all photographed)..Is there anything we can do legally?,As a parent,What would you do?
Thankyou for your help in advance! xx

7 AnswersLaw Enforcement & Police10 years agoParents...Would you report this?
Our local Children's centre where they have parenting groups,Breastfeeding classes,Parent & Toddler coffee mornings etc etc have recently put a new flyer up all around our village promoting their activities. However,They have a picture of a local man with his baby daughter at one of the meetings...Just a promotional thing.
BUT,I happen to know and can refer the children's centre to the relative authorities who can 'confirm' that just a few months ago this man was arrested and charged with shaking his baby girl (because she kept crying because she was teething!) and in recent weeks has had his 4 children taken out of his and his partner's custody through Enviromental health and social services deeming their home in complete lack of hygeine and subsequently severe neglect of their children!...Yet he is on this promotional flyer for a family/children's centre????
Should I inform them as many parents will be offended and put off by this,or should I simply live and let live?,What would YOU do as a parent?
8 AnswersParenting1 decade ago8 week since period..VERY faint positive HPT results?
It has been around 8 weeks since I had a period..approx lmp around 8th-15th March.
It is now 28th April and I have had NO period and have had at least 3 or 4 VERY faint positive pregnancy tests...I am like clockwork when it comes to my menstrual cycle, every 28 days and have never missed my period or even been late...Whats going on?...Going on my LMP I would be approx 7 or 8 weeks pregnant in which case the tests would show up pretty strong??...or could i have conceived half way through my cycle and be more around 3-5 weeks pregnant and not so much HCG being picked up just yet??
(p.s..I am currently breastfeeding an 11 month old but are on no contraception)
Thanks for your help! xx
6 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoHow do you go about legally adopting your underage daughters baby in uk?
I recently learned that one of my daughters friends may be pregnant at just 14 years old!.The family are completely opposed to abortion however respect that their daughter is not capable of rearing a baby either so have taken the decision with the blessing of their daughter to legally adopt what would infact be their grandchild.
What is the legal procedure of this,How do you go about it?
Many Thanks

1 AnswerOther - Music1 decade agoIf Jesus was a Jew then why all the other religions?
Flippant Question:As we all know..Jesus was a Jew...So is not the correct religion to follow..The jewish way??.
I am actually a spiritualist so follow no 'christian faith' as such but find it amusing all the varients of religion stating that 'they' are the path to follow, yet Jesus, the one they all worship as the son of God,was a Jew...So why aren't we all simply jewish in religion???
8 AnswersReligion & Spirituality1 decade agoWhen did your baby say ''Mummy'' or ''Daddy''?,which did they say first?
To clear up a light-hearted competition between me n the hubby lol!...We have a 4 month old baby girl who has just started babbling. My hubby says that she has said ''Daddad'',whereas I too have heard her say words close to ''mummy'' but as much as I would like to think she was 'actually' saying it,simply putting it down to babbling??.
At what age did your little one say those special words??
(Time waisters don't bother!)
Thanks xxx
12 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWhy do people circumsize their baby sons?
I've just seen a question regarding this and I ask in a purely ill-informed position, for the want of a better word, only here in the UK it is virtually un-heard of!.
Personally, though I only have girls...what are the reasons for doing this to your baby son/s?..Medical?,religion?..Because I honestly cannot see the reasoning behind it all??
Thanks for your answers. x
14 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWho would you trust the advice from most?
In my last pregnancy, unfortunately Either I or other experienced mums proved my midwife, health visitor, and nurse totally wrong on varied misleading advice they gave and more and more I hear about this happening, sometimes in very serious circumstances.
(If I had taken medics advice..I would not have my 12 year old daughter,I would have half my tubes removed hence half-fertile,I would have given up breast-feeding my new baby at 3 weeks, and one of my children may not have been here!!)
So,just out of interest..Has this ever happened to you?..Who would you trust the advice of most..Your childless nurse or midwife,or an experienced mum who has brought several children up over Umpteen years??
Thnx xx
3 AnswersOther - Pregnancy & Parenting1 decade ago2 month old with heart murmur?
No matter how much I try to keep calm,I cannot stop worrying about my Baby Girl!!.At her 8 week assessment the doctor heard a slight heart murmur. He checked her out a week later and could still hear it and has now referred her to the hospital for an ultrasound on her little heart.
I have looked it all up on the net etc and read it is quite normal and that most of the time it is an 'innocent' murmur and nothing to worry about,.but I just can't help it!.
Has anyone else been through this worry and all was fine?..Your experience pleeaaase!.
Many Thanks xx
5 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoWould you be worried..2 month after birth..Pregnant?
Im normally answering in this section not asking but...I gave birth to my 4th baby girl 9 weeks ago.All went fine after birth and I began taking my usual mini-pill after day 21.Including my baby I now have 4 kids so things have been a little crazy the past few weeks and I have stupidly forgotten a few pills along the way.
Now,at 9 weeks postpartum I still have not yet had a period.
Is it normal to go this long without your first post natal period?..Would you think it wise to take a pregnancy test??
Thanks for your advice xx
5 AnswersPregnancy1 decade agoAm I being too touchy?...just had baby and expect him to understand?
Firstly, let's get this out the way...I KNOW my hubby is not cheating on me so please leave your smutty answers out.
Ok,I just had a baby 6 weeks ago :-)..This was my 4th child.Towards the end of my pregnancy I had a bit of a hard time and could hardly walk in the end,say from 34 weeks onwards and always had to stay home resting while he made the shopping trips and school runs etc,,I really wanted to go to pick my kids up but simply couldnt manage it,despite feeling bad about it.
I am pretty much in the same position now only i am breastfeeding our now 6 week old baby..Can't get out much when it's time to feed so when the hubby goes on the school run & shopping,I still can't get.
Here's the problem...Before the pregnancy etc,,me and the hubby used to go round our village just saying Hi to the people we know and that..but now...while im stuck at home (and don't get me wrong i am extreemely happy that i have my baby!),feeling out of shape and still frumpy,he keeps coming home 20,30 minutes after WE would normally get home, when together, telling me he has been stood chatting away with first one woman then another in our village,,all of whom didnt have 2 words to say when i was there before??..he comes home knowing what i can only deem as quite personal things like how they got pregnant at a young age, women in the shops coming to the shop window waving to him while I park up the pram to go buy some baby things in the chemist,OMG Ive had enough,,,then on the little chance that I do get to go out...there's first one woman then another, chatting away like long lost friends with him..totally blanking me!!.
Please don't get me wrong,im perfectly fine with him chatting to the opposite sex,im perfectly comfortable..but why only when im not there??..and why is it never a good old 'bloke chat' he tells me about??.
Ive bit my lip in the thpoughts that it's just me and post-natal hormones but would you not be miffed if you told him how you felt and he took no notice??
Asked him to talk only tonight and he just walked back in the room to watch tv???....is it me or what??
Please..sensitive answers only,many thanks xxxx
6 AnswersNewborn & Baby1 decade agoAm I the only parent to consider this??..Missing Madeline?
Poor Madeline McCann...I ..like anyone else wishes this poor little girl could be found safe and well...
HOWEVER...
Buried beneath all the hype and the search campaign..Have we forgotten that these parents drugged their children so that they could have an 'un-interrupted' evening drinking with friends???...If Little Madeline had not been so heavily sedated by her GP mother she would have been able to kick, scream and generally raise the alarm when she was 'abducted'..or so would her sibling/s if they too had not been sedated heavily??.
My heart would normally go out to any parent in this situation,I have 3 of my own..but if you or I drugged our child we would be under investigation by the social services and our children on the protection register quicker than we could say..''living the life of riley on charity donations''!!...Am I the only one that acknowledges this???
21 AnswersParenting1 decade agoMalicious YA Member..can I block their activity?
I recently answered a question from quite a 'know it all',hypocritical 15 year old girl,,she did not like my answer and continues to 'thumbs down' every one of my answers lol!!.If I block her,can she still do this???
3 AnswersYahoo Answers1 decade agoHow would you respond to my sister-in-law?
A question just out of interest....My brothers wife is constantly copying everything I do to the extreme!.
To give you just a 'little' idea..I had children, she got pregnant,I got married, she re-newed her vows,I started my own business,so did she, selling the exact same products,i started driving lessons,so did she,I buy a designer handbag, she buys the exact same one,i pull out all the stops on my kids parties etc,she has to copy and go one better, she copies my clothes, style, even decorates her house the same as us,,and recently she came over insanely jealous when I found out I was pregnant with my fourth baby girl,,now she's pregnant and trying to buy the same pushchair as me,have the same birth plan..EVERYTHING!!.
Serious opinions only please,At the end of the day it does not get to me that much,,I live my own life and are 110% happy with everything in it and do things because 'i' and my family 'want to',not just to keep up with everyone else, but would this behaviour irritate you??,what would you do??,especially in light of the fact that all she ever does in return is make very politely snide remarks about the things i have and do???
