I had wanted to visit my family for a couple of days over my kids Thanksgiving break but then my husbands work schedule made that impossible so we just planned a dinner at home.

Then my husband tells me his family is coming to our house for the big meal and staying for days afterward. Im not consulted on this at all , he just basically makes the plans with them and then lets me know.

The part that bothers me the most is that he will still be working every day except Thanksgiving and working long hours, leaving me to entertain his family with whom Im not even comfortable to begin with.

I really wanted to get out of the house with my kids and go do something. My thought was to take them to the zoo a couple of hours away. I do feel like its rude to make plans and not include them and YET this is how every visit and holiday has been planned since we were married eight years ago.

What is the most delicate way to handle this?

In 2001 Dave Matthews Band had a song The Space Between with a video that aired. I used to watch it on VH1. The video I remember had a scene with a woman with a baby in her arms, she walked into the water, it began to rain, and at the end of the video it showed her again without the baby.

The version that Im finding online now does not show her without the baby at the end.

Can I find the original version anywhere?

I was giving my teen daughter a history lesson of the video that happened to be released at the time Andrea Yates drowned her five children in Texas. It was all over the media, and I was shocked by the connection of the video.

And by can I, I dont mean am I physically able to, what Im really asking is,

1. How hard is it to switch over after only using disposable for multiple babies?

2. What is the actual savings, if any, including the covers, detergent , any other items neccessary?

3. What brands would I use? Ones to stay away from?

4. Should I switch now even though baby is 1, like, will he adjust to the change or even notice?

Thank You, I know some of these questions seem silly but I have never thought I could do this, and Im feeling brave about it and might give it a try. If you have had positive or negative experiences with cloth diapering or certain products please feel free to share, Im open to any and all opinions and suggestions.

I just bought a new organic Ergo carrier and I just cant seem to get it to feel right.

I want to wear my son in the back position but when I do, it feels uncomfortable. Heres the problems:

1. The right strap feels good, the left digs in to my shoulder

2. my son feels too low, like I need to bend over hunchback for him to be close enough

3. I dont know where to put the waist strap, low on my hips because I am short or high on my waist to bring baby higher up my back.

4. the chest strap.. when I pull it tight it feels uncomfortable, looser feels unstable.

some other info: I am 5'2 and 122 lbs, my son is 9 mos, 20 lbs and 27 in.

If anyone has been successful using this carrier in the back position please tell what you did to make it comfy or if you know wha Im doing wrong let me know. Thanks.

I read some reviews of Seventeen magazine and found that there is a lot of sex talk. I wanted something a little cleaner for my daughter. Articles about boys and growing up are ok just not so much toward a sexually active woman. Any ideas?

I think I am getting the wrong cut of meat or something. I shop at Walmart for my groceries and I usually get the one that says "chuck tender roast". I throw some sliced onion in the bottom of the pan(the blue ceramic coated metal oval pan w/ lid) I put in the raw roast, I place the potatoes, and carrots around it, I season it, sometimes I use the McKormic season in the little pouch, then I cover it with water, sometimes beefy onion soup mix, or the gravy in the jar goes in also. Then I bake at 350 for about 2 hrs.Covered. What am I doing wrong? Please give me any tips or recipes, including what cut of meat to buy and what seasonings to put. Im desperate to make a tender, fall apart roast with a savory dark gravy. Thanks to all the great cooks who answer.

The potatoes and carrots come out soft and tasty as does the gravy by the way. The meat is tough and dry on the inside.

First off I am trying to lose 10-15 lbs. max. Id be happy with just the 10 really. I have been excercising, I have cut out all sodas, I drink water. I eat yogurt for desert and eat a lot of salads with lite dressings. I feel like Im doing all the right things and I have lost 35 lbs since having my last baby which was in April.

The problem is that I will occasionally just feel so hungry, then go off my diet and eat something I shoudnt, then feel guilty about that. I wake up and night and eat, almost in my sleep, things I would never eat during the day. I dont quite understand that.

I would remove all things that tempt me from the house and that would solve the problem except that I have 7 kids and the older ones all need snacks and deserts so chips and cookies are part of our pantry as well as rice cakes and yogurt and fruit. No one in our house is over weight and Im the only one working to lose weight. Any suggestions?

I cant seem to get the dark clothes to smell fresh, I think it might have to do with jeans being in the load. I have a good washer, a samsung and I use the steam cycle, I use Tide, and Downy but still notice a weird smell from the dark clothes, they look clean and dont really smell dirty but definately not fresh like when I do the whites or other colors. What would you reccomend as far as detergent and setting on the washer to do the dark clothes or jeans? And has anyone else experienced this?

I am desperate to help my 8 1/2 yr old son. He has many social and diciplinary problems. I have sought the help of doctors, followed their directions with medication and been visiting weekly with a therapist who counsels him and provides parenting/dicipline techniques to my husband and I. We have been steady seeing her for about one year.

I try to overlook the small negative behaviors while applying appropriate punishments to the bigger ones. We use techniques that involve taking away priveleges or giving early bedtimes for negative consequence. I admit we have spanked in the past and have chosen to focus on other methods. The spanking didnt work long term and the methods we are trying now arent working either.

I have other children and we are all suffering because the household becomes so unhappy when we all have to cope with his violence, outbursts, stealing, ruining others property, hitting(occasionally) name calling, disrespect and some other behaviors that are quite disgusting involving spit, urine and feces.

This is especially unfair to the 10 yr old brother that he must share a room with for the time being.

We dont have any family support outside our own home. My parents are deceased and my husbands live in another state. There is no one that he could stay with even temporarily, But Im feeling more and more that the only way he will succeed and we can heal is for us to be apart.

This hurts me alot as I have always stayed home with my kids, raised them to enjoy them, not used babysitters or daycare because I love being their caregiver. But he isnt thriving in my care, no matter what approach I try. What services could be available for a family like us. Child Welfare wont get involved since there is no abuse. A mental hospital wont accept him unless he threatens murder or suicide. What can we do to help him get along in society as he is? Where can I turn?

Any advice is welcome, although I will not read any answers that are negative in nature or slam me as a mother, trust me I question myself every day and feel the complete weight of responsibility without anyone else telling me what Ive done wrong.

The last thing I should add is that his behavior at school is pretty decent for right now, though he has been in trouble there as well, he seems to be doing mostly well with his attitude in that setting, some days he still acts out there as well and the teacher, principal and I work together to dicipline him accordingly. My husband is about to complete a degree in business with a concentration in accounting. He will be trying to secure a job in the accounting/finance field. He was born in El Salvador, moved to U.S when he was 3, served in the US Navy and speaks English with no accent. Most people arent aware that he is also fluent in Spanish, he took it in high school and college also so he can write it and read it without error too. I have been telling him that I feel its a huge asset and he should have it on his resume, he says he doesnt know what to put or where it should go. We live in the south and many people have told me that if it came down to two potential employees they would likely go with the bilingual one for practical reasons. Any ideas? Thanks.

I found one small bug on my mattress while changing the sheets so naturally I panicked and hit the internet terrified that we had a bedbug infestation. However, after going to several sites I just couldnt see the bug I found really resembling any of the photos of any stage of the bedbug.

The bug I found is small and kind of brown but has white or gray speckles on its body. In addition all the websites said that the bedbug was very flat or could make its body very flat, but the bug I found is quite rounded with a hump like shell more shaped like a round beetle.

After much more inspection I found several more tiny bugs just like the first one, but none were on my bed or boxsprings, I found them on the outward facing side of my bedroom curtain. I found these during the day while the sun was hot on that window, in fact it appeared that these little bugs were sunbathing.

The information I found online said they were nocturnal and liked dark hidden places which seems to be complete opposite of the bugs I found. Has anyone had a false alarm OR has anyone seen bedbugs that do look like this and seem to enjoy the sunlight. I just want to know what Im dealing with and how to proceed. Im afraid of dismissing these as another bug and getting a worse infestation if they are bedbugs or paying some high priced exterminator to come out and tell me these are some other bug that are harmless.

Ive read the reviews for the belly bandit and I think I would have problems with how it fits because Im only 5'2 and supposedly its quite long. I was thinking that there must be other girdle type binding products in stores that would do about the same thing. If youve tried something that worked please tell me the name of it and what store you bought it at. Thanks to all.

Ive went to several sites and they dont seem ligit. When I click on what is supposed to be a coupon it will take me to another site or ask me to sign up for something. Even on Huggies website, which I did sign up for, I just cant seem to find the actual coupon. A woman recently handed me a coupon she printed out while we were both looking at diapers. I should have asked where she printed it from. She also said she printed coupons for Target purchases and she had one of those with her as well. I know these were real. The Huggies coupon worked at the register just as it should have, taking 2$ off. PLEASE anyone know where to get these??

I want to know who has the fastest recorded running time? I dont care what the distance is. I keep seeing conflicting reports based on whether its 100 m or 200 m. I just need to put down who is considered the fastest running man on earth. Id like to know his name, the speed and when he made this record. Thanks to all.

I need to replace old makeup, I dont use much so it lasts a long time.

I have been using CG smoothers for the past 3 yrs or so. I dont like a makeup that looks or feels too thick.

I have very pale skin and medium blue eyes, I do feel like I need more coverage now than I did in my 20s. I dont do the eye makeup, just mascara and lip stick or gloss, I use powder once in a while, and usually no blush,

I guess what Im looking for is a product to even out skin tone and just give a clean look to my face without making me look All Made Up.

I dont shop in the malls so hopefully I can find a product that sells at walmart, target or wallgreens.

I wanted to read real testamonials from an unbiased source. I went to the website and decided that 50 bucks is not too outrageous if the product works really well. Yes, that is a diagnosis from a licensed child psychologist that has been working with my family for over a year.

I never thought I would come to a point where I felt I had tried every possible strategy or parenting technique without success and yet here I am.

I know alot of people reading this will have negative comments and pre conceived notions about this situation and I understand the sentiment but the most info I feel comfortable giving out is that, we are a stable two parent household in a middle class rural community and that one out of our 6 children is unable to function in our family, and I mean simply dealing with the most common of rules of behavior. We have worked with the school board, the doctors office and a therapist for a few yrs and have followed every reasonable suggestion. He has been on medication for ADHD and is excelling now in his school work. My son is 8 1/2.

I would like to further investigate the possibility of using a boot camp for children as a tool to get through to him and instill the values and behaviors that will help him succeed and be better adjusted to society. Any advice will be sincerely read but mostly Im looking for parents who may have used a boot camp for their child and whether they would reccommend it or not and why.

Ive been trying to research online and just cant figure out which ones are the good ones.

My husband and I are taking a weekend trip to New Orleans in January and want to go on a good tour of the old homes and locations in town that are allegedly haunted.

The problem is that some of the ones I read about sound like they put on a production for the tour, with fake blood and costumed people and all that.

Thats not what we want at all. Just to visit the homes and hear all the legend and history for each place.

If anyone has been on one that they loved or hated, can you please tell me the name or the website.
