  • CNC Bridgeport 720 How can I restore the parameters?

How can I restore the parameters on a Bridgeport 720 CNC machining center. This is for a Bridgeport 720 with Heidenhain tcn 355 controler. A backup battery problem caused the loss during a move.

Where can I get the parameters?

How are they entered in the machine?

Can this be keyed in from the controller panel?

Any help will be greatly appreciated.

  • Whats causing the epidemic of "upspeaking" or "uptalking"?

There is an ever increasing number of people who "upspeak"? That is when someone raises the pitch of their voice at the end of sentences that are NOT questions? They intone a question like pitch at the end of statements? And even do in the middle of statement sentences? This habit used to be confined to teeny boppers? who seek reassurance after every few words? Now it is becoming so pervasive? as to be almost be considered "normal"? I find it intensely annoying? and will not listen to someone who does it? But WHY is this happening all of a sudden? Do those who do it,? know they do it? How can we stop them?

  • How can I calculate the maximum safe RPM of a spinning disk?

I am building a dynomometer and I want to use aluminum rotors of 6061 T6. I would like to calculate the max safe RPM and also the bursting speed of the rotors. I know that similar rotors of 12inc diameter will go to 9000rpm safely.I am using 6inch rotors and want much higher speed. They will have pockets and vanes machined into them, but the solid disk speed should be sufficient. Anyone have the equation?
