Man i tried out for TUF & it's f+%king ruff i had to run at least 3 miles in under 20 min and we trained for 3 hours of pure grappling and conditoing i'm made it but didn't have enough experiance to get on the show and i was 13 LBS over weight. (i cried).. i think your husband should go to a place where they train mma or boxing and do so spwaring with people thats how i got my shot.

Or if you live in Southern Cal i got a place>>>>>>>>>>>>>

How long has he been training? I have been training for 16 years in MMA and I am really into the UFC also. I would suggest that if he is new to the sport that he goes into a smaller circuit like a local one before trying to hit the UFC. It is recognition that will help him make it. Just a reminder: The UFC is the largest MMA circuit in the world right now so it will not be easy to get in there.

Some states have really started to get tough on regulating all types of fighting since MMA has become so popular. Illinois, Indiana, and Missouri just came out with new laws and requirements and they have stipulated a $5,000 fine on the promoter and a $500 fine for the fighter for some of the infractions if the promoter does not enforce the new standards and laws. Your husband should check with the state athletic commission and they can give him the information that he needs and tell him about that process and what they require.

Some states still currently don't require a fight card but this was one of the new stipulations and you have to have it with you in those states I mentioned above if you are fighting on that card and be able to produce it just like proof of car insurance if you are stopped in your car.

I guess if he's really set on it, he should try to find a gym, that would be a good place to find some other fighters. He's not going to make it into the UFC without years of experience, but if he has a lot of determination he could try to get some fights against guys with less experience on some small/underground rings.

If he is training at MMA place, when the instructors feel he is ready, they will be pushing him to fight, since generally the school gets a cut of the winnings. So getting a fight isn't all that hard. He will have to start small and work his way up.

I hope he has good health insurance. Get ready for bad elbows and knees. Protect the ears and neck and good luck.

He needs to start localy there are many smaler leagues and joining a club or team would be his best bet. No man is mountain.

Well if he REALLY wants to fight then he will have to ask his teacher and when he feels ready and with his Teacher says he's ready then his teacher will find fights for him, Good Luck, Good day :)
