I have tried replacing the CMOS battery but my PC still loses time. At the moment it is 33 minutes slow.?
It is still under guarantee and I think the manufacturer (Targa) is going to send an engineer.
Does anyone know the likely cause of this and if I will need to back up the memory?
Cheers

anytime you send your computer back the manufacturer you need to back up everything on it. Once they get it they are going to wipe it clean to make sure than nothing on the computer is causing the undesired effects.

there is no way that a low battery would have a loss of time.... its not like a motor that gets slow.... if you are loosing time you have a virus or something.... if it is just dispalying the wrong time then yes, it could be battery.
You cant backup memory... you should backup all data on your hard drive though beofre you send it to anyone for repairs!!
