Trying to get a feel for whether the books/movie will be popular. Has anyone ever met the authors? Anyone have any connection to the old victorian house that Holly Black grew up in? Anyone work on the film? Any personal connections to the film or books here?

My concern is that it might be seen as a harry Potter-style clone

harry potter is nothing like the spiderwick chronicles first because the books are way longer
the people are older
they're not living in a mansion with goblins chasing them because of a field guide
i think that the movies will bbe great to fans of the books. the movie actually looks better than the books but soi nothing compared to harry potter. thats way off
