Questions and answers asked on this site.?

I am just curious. Does anyone use the spell check before submitting questions and answers? I realize some of the questions and answers are in the abbrivated text messaging format, but others aren't. Don't schools teach spelling anymore?

Asked and answered at least once a week.

Some people aren't native English speakers, some are dumb, some are sloppy, some just don't seem to care, and some fit in two or more of those categories. Many of them get very upset and defensive when corrected.

In response to your education question, I believe many elementary schools in the U.S. are eliminating spelling curriculum. They're understaffed, underfunded and/or just don't think it's important anymore.

I agree with you. Sometimes it's hard to figure out what the answer is either from texting or bad grammar/spelling. I try to use spell check but sometimes it just seems to freeze up on me. At the very least I try to read the preview before submitting.
