Should the NY Giants trade Jeremy Shockey? Why or why not?

Personally, I think we should while he is still worth something. He cant catch, and all he does is complain, and that drains the team. Notice he goes out with a broken leg, and we win the superbowl with a bunch of rookies who arent begging Eli Manning to throw them the ball. Bottom line, shockey drains the life out of the team and cant catch when he is wide open. Kevin Boss is where its at. Why should or shouldnt we trade Shockey?

Yep; hes a too big distraction for not enough production on the field, not too mention his quickly-lowering injury resisitance. Hes still a big name in the league though, and the Giants could probably get a very good trade arranged for him. Also, I have no doubt that the cost of keeping Shockey on the roster outweighs the cost of keeping Boss by millions. The Giants have an extremely solid "2nd" TE in Boss, and could use help in positions like CB and safety.

I'm not even a Giants fan but u can tell after Shockey left w/the broken leg a huge weight was lifted all of their shoulders. Manning probably didn't work well under the pressure of shockey crying like a little girl if he didn't get the ball n demanding flags from the refs when a play didn't go with his way...

    I say trade him!!!!

nicely Shockey is between the a minimum of ideal 10 TE's contained in the NFL. be careful if he's fifth or more effective constructive too. i imagine Brees needed a TE like this. Its confusing once you go away a crew that has the #a million TE Antonio Gates. i imagine this can make the Aints the Saints this 3 hundred and sixty 5 days. I also imagine Shockey's chemistry with the Giants replaced into shot. even even with the actuality that in the adventure that they had to throw him away, get Favre for him and extremely make a hype. Eli, Favre the Bayou Boys share QB roll and repeat.

I completely agree. Jeremy Shockey has talent dont get me wrong, but overall he does more damage than good for the Giants. His feild rants, and complaining brings a negative side to the Giants, and Kevin Boss is younger, and better for the future. Not to mention hes alot cheaper too. It would be foolish to keep him, especially when they already have a great tight end in Kevin Boss. I think its time to trade Shockey while his stock is high, and pick up a premier runningback, mabye even a premier linebacker?

Lol @ people who would think trading shockey is possible. Especially to division rivals. They don't want such a cancer on their team.

That being said, keep Boss. Sure, Shockey CAN be great, when he wants to. besides maybe the dozen spectacular plays he makes a year, the rest is just complaining and stupidity. Get rid of him, and use the cap room to sign Samuel or Hall.

Yeah they should trade Shockey, but not pick up a new TE, there back up (Boss) is pretty good, not as good at blocking, but has great hands, and less of a problem in the huddle. Another WR would be good, or try and get a draft pick with it.

You make some good points, but I think the run would have taken place even if Shockey was in the game. Boss is good, but not as fast as shockey nor does he have the tenacity and fierceness to want to win games!

    no, not really.

Shockey is a gamebreaker, the guy can block and make an impact downfield. his talent is better than Boss but Boss is just a blue collar hard working guy who is less talented but never complain. Shockey on the other hand can be a hothead when they dont gave him the ball but i see him melt alittle after his team won SB without him. i think Boss and Shockey will remain Giant next season to back one another up.

Yeah, I think we should trade Shockey for either a better TE, like Chris Cooley, or more WRs to take the load off of Burress and Toomer

Yes. Boss runs his routes. Shockey runs wherever he wants to then waves his arms around and acts like a child whenever Eli doesn't throw to him.
