My cat keeps licking her tummy bald?

She just keeps licking and licking at her tummy and bacl thighs. Pulls all the fur out. The skin underneath doesn't seem irritated or anything.

She's around 7-8 years old, fixed, and is about a year overdue for her maintenance shots.

possibly fleas (even a few fleas can cause problems), maybe a UTI (i have seen some cats with UTIs make their abdomen and inner thights bald), maybe psychogenic alopecia--a behavioral disorder.

Are you advantageous she isn't getting bald simply by fact of funghi and that's the reason she is licking herself? (itching?). Have a vet see her, some days in the past a cat become licking its tummy simply by fact she become constipated. I unquestionably have on no account had this subject, so I have not to any extent further concepts, yet while it seems she has no medical subject, attempt twiddling together with her greater and petting her, she might prefer that.

One of my cats will be 6 this year. She also has licked her tummy bald fairly recently. She just had her shots, so while I was there I asked the doctor why she might be doing that, and he said it could be stress. She doesn't get along very well with my other two cats. She also had fleas.

My experience to the same thing is my cat had fleas. The vet prescribed Advantax and she improved.

Take her to the vet and have the vet look her over, also the shots may have to be started over, except the rabies if the shot was with in three years.

    Hope she gets better soon.

My cat had the same exact problem. At first I thought it was anxiety related, but after I gave her Advantage flea medication it has stopped. My advise would be do get high grade flea medication from your vet.

sounds to me like she has a flea allergy. even if she gets bit by one flea she may have a reaction. (even though you may not see any fleas) I have a kit that will do that too as he is overly sensitive to flea bites. treat her with a good flea medicine like frontline or advantage and as soon as the fleas are gone then she will stop cleaning herself bald and her hair will grow back. I use frontline plus on all of mine.

Some cats will do this for no physical reason. It's a stress thing. As far as treatment, Valium is the one I've heard of, although I am sure there are others.

I have seen these before. Each time it was either fleas or stress. You should definitely see a vet...He/She will be able to tell you fr certain.

    Awww poor kitty.

    Allergies maybe?

I know I am not much help, sorry.

Anyway, hope your kitty gets better.

P.S- They are claiming that we over vaccinate our pets, so I do Not get my Chi and Siamese vaccines every year. But both are also strictly inside animals.

These days, who knows, who is right or wrong. ??????

    God Bless.
