Does it bother anyone else when their answers get a thumbs down?

Perfect example, using red wine. It is a matter of taste, and some have none. Some can only aspire to mad dog 20/20, while others have savored Chateau Laffite Rothschild 1967.

You must consider that a great deal more than 50% of the people on here cannot spell, have no control of grammar, and think simply. When the majority speaks, it may not speak favorably. Keep in mind the old addage, "It's hard to soar with eagles when you work with turkeys."

Nope. I don't see any point in bringing down the whole lot because one person decided to act like an *** and give me a thumbs down. However, I've noticed that it happens a lot if you give someone a thumbs down. You look, and bam, every other person has one 2 seconds later. It's the work of childish people. I just don't stoop to that level. Makes my butt hurt 8)

I am totally with you. It's one thing if someone says something that is offensive but to give someone a thumbs down for liking apple pie instead of cherry is weird. Everyone is entitled to their own opinions! If the person clearly didn't answer the question than I could understand. Oh well, some people get annoyed easily and have nothing else to do..

I so agree!! Why do people put thumbs down when they are only saying their opinions??!! Well if the answer is vulgar (bad language, ect.) then they have a right to do that. But come on! What if you spent the whole morning on your time to write an answer and you get 10 thumbs down?? That is just wrong!!! They need to stop the thumb thing! I DONT LIKE IT AT ALL!!!

The trolls are out in force Dear. They have nothing better to do than to thumbs down people. Seems kinda silly to me really if they don't like your choice of wine, don't drink it. You don't lose any points for thumbs down so don't let it get under your skin. Know that the people who give thumbs down wouldn't know the difference between a good bottle of wine and a bottle of Boone's Farm. Most of them have probably never even tasted wine.

I have never looked to see if I have thumbs down on an answer.I think the thumbs down on the red wine question is because that is against the rules to ask so answers are as well.

Or if you give some information that is FACT you get a thumbs down! I don't get it! I think some jerks like to go through and give thumbs down to tons of people. Like it gives them a thrill. Others just give thumbs down to things they don't agaree with. "My favorite movie isn't Serenity, so I'll give this person a thumbs down for liking it!"

Kind of stupid if you ask me! I know what you mean!

No, not a bit. A hundred different folks will have a hundred different opinions. One person's thumbs-down is another person's star.

And Yahoo Answers is meant for fun and amusement. These answers are not to be taken too seriously.

Sweetie it's not your answer which prompts the thumbs down' it's the trolls as they love to do it and their buddies do it to.They are a mean nasty creepy bunch abd no matter what question what site anywhere on answers' as they will try to ruin our days.It used to bother me too; but now i just ignore it and give thumbs up to the ones they thumbs down..lol

Agree... I think other answerers give the thumbs down so their answers look more appealing. You should be able to see who gave it and why the thumbs-down was given.
