Which one would you protest?

Would you protest over a city removing a tree because it's cracking the sidewalk that only effect a few people, or protest the price of fuel that effect everyone

In the long run, the price of fuel is more important.

People can plant more trees. They can even fix the sidewalk. After these changes, everything will be back to normal.

However, the price of fuel will have more long term ramifications. If you walk into a grocery store you'll realize that almost everything costs more. Families are hurting just to get by. This is not right! It's all because people like the CEOs of ExxonMobile need to make the billion dollar profits.

Cutting down a tree is bad--I won't debate you on that. It's just that how much we pay when we go to the gas pump really affects our lives more.

Now, protesting? I really don't think protesting the fuel companies will do much good. They don't care what we think because no matter what, we need gasoline. If one person decides to take the bus instead of getting into their Hummer, it won't matter. If a group of people stand outside ExxonMobile or another oil company's headquarters it simply won't matter.

However, what do I think would be more affective? Well, I think you'd have better luck protesting about the tree because it seems more local and people are more likely to listen. The people that make the call about removing it are usually elected officials, and they really don't want to be boosted out of their position.

I hope I answered you question!

I would say the first one. People need to get off their butts and start walking and biking more. Perhaps these high fuel prices are good for everyone because Fat America is more attempted to walk, save money and help the environment. And besides, trees help make oxygen. So let's restate this: What would you protest, someone getting rid of your shade and oxygen or the jacking up of fuel which damages the environment, makes people lazy and takes your oxygen? That;s how I see it.

Considering that where I live, you can't walk anywhere without being either hassled, kidnapped, or having to cross four lanes of traffic, then I would have to say fuel.

It's a fifteen minute drive to church. No public transportation goes there. Imagine how long that would take me to ride my bike or walk. If I wanted to walk to school, it would add an extra 2 hour commute on me every day.

I walk a mile and a half every day, but I can't walk every where I go. It's just not practical in today's world, especially since we have an AWFUL public transportation system.

Fuel price, of course. Whoever says otherwise deserves to be chained to the next tree that gets bulldozed.

Are you against fuel? I agree it's a problem, whereas cutting down ONE tree isn't. Ghandi had done great advice for people like you,“be the change you want to see in the world"
