Do we have the power to put something into law that says no public official can take any money or gifts from lobbyist?

The answer is: Potentially. To what extent are you as an American citizen willing to make sure no grifting is occurring? To what extant are we going to ask how the individuals we seemingly blindly employ to represent us going to make important decisions that will penultimately effect our lives?

That is the way is use to be. I don`t understand why a corporations can give money to a candidate and also own the voting machines and we cannot see the programing if we the people think something is fishy. Corporations do not have the same morals as humans and are that of profit and shareholders. We have the power but it will take one of those crazy Liberals that we are suppose to be scared of to get it done.

In the democrat party it is happening on its own with campaign financing coming from the people because of the Internet. I suspect that the republicans will pick it up too.

But the ultimate goal would be campaign reform. Barrack might do this but he has gained so much money that I don't have a lot faith in the ultimate goal.

But his money is good money, from the voters. So it is better then it was.
