My dog had, I believe, blood in her poop?
She is on prednisone for a mast cell tumor. I've noticed that maybe in the last couple of weeks, she was somewhat straining to poop. She started pooping little small balls and then sometimes a normal poop. Today, I noticed dark red smears in her poop. It's not a lot but I can see it. Also, her poop looks dark greenish. The majority of the time, she eats Innova canned food and sometimes the Innova dry kibble. When I fed her chicken and brocolli with her Innova food, her poops were normal. However, I stopped doing that and just started giving her Innova only. She became picky, so some of you suggested that I stop giving her human food so I did. I took her to the vet on Thursday, and this wasn't an issue at that time. However, the doctor did her blood work and urine sample. She didn't do a fecal sample. Everything was normal and fine. So, do you think I should be worried? Maybe the blood is coming from my dog straining. I will call her vet on Tuesday but any answers would be helpful.

No, cat food won't reason this. You did not say how lengthy this has been occurring, yet whilst this is short term, something could have annoyed her tummy, or she could are starting to be into something she don't have. attempt not feeding her at taken with 12 hours and then supply her something very mushy, like boiled rice and boiled white poultry, or toddler food. yet whilst this is been occurring for greater desirable than an afternoon or so, she desires a vet. it may be worms, it may be an infection, it may be all kinds of issues. Edit: human beings, quiet down! If it in simple terms all started today, she does not could drop each and every thing and rush off to the vet! this is not staggering.

Um, I don't know much about dogs but I think that the straining is what caused the bleeding.
Maybe there is some type of animal laxative that can help..
I hope everything works out for you.

yes, call the vet, and try to make the dog comfortable and make sure that you are careful with it
