Some can, it depends on how clearly you can see through the lenses. I wear dark glasses all the time because I have Glaucoma and find that any bright lights hurt my eyes. When I sit in the garden, which is south facing, I like to complete crossword puzzles and find that not all sunglasses allow me to see clearly the printed numbers. Good luck. Gladgran
