When looking at mutual funds you want the lowest expense ratio possible. The expense ratio is comprised of management fees and various other expenses. However, sometimes you want to take a high expense ratio in exchange for a better fund manager. Obviously you don't care how low the expense ratio is if the fund manager is terrible and is losing you money. When looking at mutual funds be sure to check out fund managers, as that is the most important element. Try www.morningstar.com for help.
