Was it wrong what the LAPD did for the 2 officers on the train?

Why did the LAPD have to salute the 2 officers on the train? they were both off duty. Why did they not do that for the civilian's on the train? Where they not as important?

No of course it wasnt wrong.

The civilians are very bit as important but the off duty police are part of them.

People grieve in the manner most appropriate to them.

If someone were a member of your family or work organization, most people would respond in a similar manner.

It is not saying others are less important, it is saying hey, this guy was one of us, this hurts and we need to do this because he would to the exact same thing for us, his brothers.

only one officer was killed on the train; the deputy sheriff survived and I believe he was on duty (probably as a fare inspector)

and its just traditions to salute a fallen officer

its not wrong they did salute the faller deceased officer as per tradition

but I'm betting their minds also thinking of the cilvians as well
