How can i lose weight ?

I lost 115 pounds 5 years ago with diet and exercise. in 2005-2007 i gained 50 back because i slacked off. Since feb of this year i have been going to the gym 6 days a week doing cardio for 45 minutes per day and some muscle training a few days a week. Since ive been going to the gym i havent lost any weight but i havent gained any either. My clothing still fits the same.. the only weight that has come off is in my face neck and arms. I weigh 193 pounds and the fat in my midsection, butt and upper legs refuse to go away.

My diet consists of 2 hard boiled egg whites or plain unsweetened oatmeal for breakfast, a plain turkey lunch meat sandwich on light whole grain bread for lunch and baked chicken or fish with veggies (usually green beans) for dinner.Snacks consist of plain nonfat yogurt, and nuts of some sort on occasion. I dont eat red meat, I dont eat butter, oil, or sweets, i dont drink pop or anything with sugar in it.Not even juice or coffee. I drink bottled water all day. a gallon to be exact. When i have milk its unsweetened soy.

Im at my wits end. My diet is boring but at least im not getting any heavier.Even my dr said im eating fine. ive calculated and i get about 1100-1500 calories a day. The only suggestion she could give is to exercise more.

Can anyone please give me some advice on this??

Ok, as insane as this sounds, I think you need more fat. No not Maccy Ds. Avocados, more nuts like cashews, oils like olive oil and sunflower oil, oily fish like salmon and mackerel. If you swap some of the carbs, like bread, for fat, like avocado, (i suggest using some kind of recipes rather than a direct replacement - yuck) I think you will start seeing weight loss. Your diet is already really restricted, so restricting it more probably won't help.

I started eating huge salads, dripping with salad dressing very high in fat from olive oil, full of good fats like nuts and vegetable fats and fish.

I lost a lot more weight than I have have by reducing my intake but sticking to pasta and whatnot. Pasta, bread, rice and potatoes are maintaining your weight.

Rice is probably the least likely to keep you holding onto the wieght. But basically your diet has to get more severe on the carb front. Ditch as many carbs as you can bear to. Replace them with good sugars like more fruit, and fats and red meat or white meat and fish if you hate red meat.

Well, first of all, congrats for doing all the right things! You know how to lose weight obviously and you're taking good care of your health, so the only thing left is that your body must be used to your routine.

Try this for two weeks and see if you can't shake things up a bit.

Go on the 5-4-3-2-1 diet for just two weeks.

    http://www.easy-weightloss-tips.com/5-4-3-2-1diet....

Follow it exactly and don't cheat! You can find the diet on the page below. You pick the food but the diet helps you eat small amounts. Choose highly nutritious foods because that will be more satisfying and keep your metabolism strong.

Drink plenty of water to keep your system flushed and to help you feel full. Give up soda for the two weeks, even diet, and all other sweet drinks as well (Sounds like you're doing this already!). Also, no alcohol for 2 weeks. Chew sugar-free gum between meals if you need a flavor in your mouth.

Keep up your workouts but change them up a bit.

You might also want to try keeping a food log and an exercise log for a period of time. That's motivating and helps you really analyze what is going on. You can print both out for free on the same site.

Other than these suggestions, you're doing the all the right stuff. I know you're frustrated, but shaking things up periodically may be all you need. Good luck to you!
