My PC has a "No Audio Device Found" after going to sleep?

What gives, All I did was let my Windows Vista PC go to sleep, when

I brought it back on line my audio icon had a red X though it and when I click on it it gives me the message. I've tried all the tricks I know,

even downloaded a new driver from realtek and still no sound and the same message. Is this a Vista glitch? Is MS working on this? Any

help would be greatly appreciated.

Update:

The exact statement should read "No Audio Device Installed"

Update 2:

Model HP media center m8200n

AMD

Update 3:

Bjzzzgirl, I tried everything you mentioned. I have the current update

already. Yes it happened after tje sp1

update. When I went to the MS website

i tried a update that was for a similiar

issue and MS said it did'nt apply to my

Audio driver. Thank you!

Update 4:

I just retried to update my realtek driver

all went well but still i have no sound.

Someone must know what is causing this "red X" I cked my device manager

and everything is ok. Jeez i'm starting to think it's posessed. What does downloading the MS service pack and my issue have in common?

Update 5:

Oh I have tried the roll back with no success could my souldboard be bad?

    1. Did you install any hardware right before this happened?

    2. When you go into the the Device manager and click on the + next to sound, video and game controllers. Double click on the Realtek sound and is there any error message here? If you click on the Driver Tab and click "update" driver, what happens?

    3. Did you install the SP1 update right before this happened?

    **Update**

    Suggestion.

    1. Roll back the computer to a date before installing the service pack.

    2. Remove service pack 1 through Add/Remove programs. Get your sound working again (try pulling the sound card from the device manager and rebooting).

If the sound comes back--Download and run in the install of the Service Pack again making you use Windows Updater to do this.

If the sound still does not come back, check the sound in Safe-mode (small chance the chipset has gone bad).
