how to overclock intel Q6600?

i currently upgraded my motherboard and processor to MSI p45 platinum and intel Q6600. i want to overclock it to 3.6Ghz that is (400x9). what are the proper voltages to use to be able to obtain it? i've already done 400x8 (3.2Ghz).

my specs are as follows:

intel q6600 G0

msi p45 platinum 1.4 bios version

corsair dominator 2x1GB 1066

TIA

Update:

@Mercuri

you must disable eist to be able to adjust the multiplier. q6600 has a multiplier of 6-9. i want to reach 50% frequency of q6600. i manage to make my FSB 50%. must people here in my place can make it 4Ghz. just wanna know some voltage adjustments fot 3.6Ghz.

Update 2:

by the way guys, I'm using zalman cnps-9700NT to cool my processor

@SJ

thanks man. i just wanna reach it for benchmark. i just usually run my processor at 3GHz (333x9)

    Rule of thumb for the Q6600 is 1.5 volts vcore--max. I wouldn't put over 1.45 on it myself thou to avoid cpu degradation. Thats when excessive voltage results in reducing the overclocking capability of the cpu over time. 3.6 is usually the max for the Q6600 and even some of the G0 stepped Q6600s wont do that. I wouldn't try for 3.6 unless you have some serious air cooling going on. Quads run hotter than duals --especially at a high overclock. I overclock everything and run my E8500 at 3.8 (9.5X400==1600FSB) althou i take it well over 4 when i benchmark. As you reach the top end of your cpus overclock performance actually starts to decrease. Overclocking for performance is more than just bumping the cpu up but a combination of the cpu, ram and gpu clock as well as running the tighest latencies you can. I run Dominator ram--great ram. Assuming you have a clocking board where you can clock your ram and cpu separately don't relax the latencies on the ram just so you can bump the cpu up to 3.6 unless you just wanna see how high you can go and do it temporarily. Your rig will be faster running tight ram latencies at 3.4 than when running loose latencies at 3.6. Just make sure you check your temps after 3-5 minutes of hardcore gaming like Crysis. Thats when they will be the highest and, althou you may have acceptable temps while just surfing the net, gaming may very well change that.

    If you have people running 4GHz on their Q6600s why didn't you ask them what vcore to run? Also see what latencies they are running on the ram. I guarantee you the latencies are slow and nowhere near latency 5. No use running 4GHz if they're running latency 12 to do it unless bragging about how fast the cpu is is more important than getting the best performance out if it.

    Wait a sec... how'd you change the multiplier? The Q6600 has a locked multiplier.

    Anyway, keep in mind that just because someone managed to make their processor go 3.6GHz does not necessarily mean yours can hit that speed as well.
