How to gain public access a CHP report?

I need to see a CHP report.

It does not involve me, but public has got to have access to those kinda things after some time...right?

So the question is - when, and how can i access CHP reports as a private person?

The public has access to many state and local agencies' records (Gov C §§ 6250-6276.48). But police incident reports are exempt (Pen C §§ 11075, 11105, 11105.1). Investigative files may be withheld, even after an investigation is over (Gov C § 6254(f)).

OMG, Wil is just too smart! How come neither of us thought to just ask the records division? Well darn, now I feel so stupid.

This is all you need to obtain a report.

    Easiest, report number.

but a date, time, type of incident, and name involved would usually get your report from the records division.
