Do both of these tv's have a built in HD tuner ?

I think the philips one has it, but not so sure about the sharp . Im going to buy one of these this week, and since they both seem about the same ( except philips has a bigger contrast ratio ) I cant decide, but I want the one I can see my local channels in HD . Thanks .

Both of these sets have ATSC (North American Over The Air digital), QAM (North American digital Cable), and NTSC (North American analog) tuners.  You should be set for analog and digital reception with an antenna or digital cable.

no such thing as an "HD tuner"  but both these tvs are capable of displaying the HD picture when connected to the right equipment, PS3 etc

By law, any set you buy in the USA must have a digital antenna tuner, or else it will be a monitor. On HD sets, the digital tuner will tune the HD digital antenna channels, and display them in HD.

Do both of these tv's have a built in HD tuner ?
