what present should i get my folks for their silver anniversary?

It's gonna be my parents 25th wedding anniversary this jan 17!

& im going crazy trying to think of a nice present for them...

-_-"

i love to shop, but this is one present that really had me thinking the most...

i was planning to actually give them a hotel accommodation somewhere a bit far from the city..

just like a hotel in front of a beach or something, but when i tried to asked my mom, she said that they don't have the time for such frivolous stuff...

TT_TT

*sigh*

geez...

anyway, any suggestions?

(@_@)

for folks out there that are already married or whatever, what would you like to receive if its your 25th wedding anniversary from your daughter?

ps:

reasonable gifts,please...

much as i wanna give them the moon, or buy the Eiffel tower, i cant..

XP

Update:

oh i forgot to include im in the Philippines..

hehe

yeah, they've been together for quite sometime & i wanna show them that im so blessed for having them as my folks

^_^

thanks for all the ideas.

keep 'em coming,guys!

I made my Mom & Dad a quilt this past year... a lot of people don't have time for that though... so maybe try:

--> If you have pictures you can make them a book, encapsulating all of their 25 years. You can make these books at sites like:

    http://www.shutterfly.com/shop/Photo_Books/product...

(If you're not comfy buying online, Target sells giftcards for the total cost of these books and they can be delivered to the Target store near you.)

--> Most of the time, the whole family shows up for 25 year anniversaries, what about getting a professional family photo taken?

Side note: at JCPenny's they have their photo group you can sign up for- it's $40 but you get sitting fee's waved- which are $10 each, along with free digital photos which saves you $5 more... if you're just signing up, you get a sheet free- saving another $10... it's definitely worth it!

--> Hallmark sells 25th anniversary commemorative plate, that is white with silver lined edge and the center says "25th Anniversary" in silver... it comes with a special marker that people can sign- instead of a guest book for an anniversary party... or if no party or people, you can just write out your sentiments toward them on it and wrap it up and give it to them.

Wow, 25 years together is a long time for a marriage not to dissolve. Good for them. Your idea was pretty good, but i can see your mother doesn't associate with "those" things. I'm assuming a vacation would be off limits too, but that's an ideaif you can afford it. Just don't try to give them something that specifically commemorates the marriage, they'd prefer some short term material thing most likely. Good luck choosing something.

Well silver is the traditional gift for a 25th anniversary, I like your idea better but if they don't have time for it I don't know.

JustMe had a terrific idea, that would be really nice.

    Foxy kamusta?

I think something silver would be good, I've read someone answered a silver photo frame, that would be nice.

Maybe a painting of their wedding pic would be awesome.

  • a nice dinner and a small commemorative gift like a Precious Moments figurine to commemorate the event?

take them out to dinner or get them dinner out to a nice restaurant...

call a cleaning service and have your Moms house cleaned.

buy them tickets to a movie or live show ( you don't say where you live)

if you are still thinking of a place to get away. google the poconos resort where couples go to relax, relive and enjoy themselves. i particularly like the champagne glass hot tub bath.
