Sent it to the warranty they declined it, however when it came back, My laptop now runs, and its got vista installed ( says in the bottom of the laptop ), but I still can't see anything on the screen . Is this fixable ?

Its fixable but it will be expensive (like 500 or 600 dollars). It sounds like your laptop's inverter or backlight went out. Before sending it away. Try this:

    Shutdown your laptop

    Unplug it from anything

    Take out the battery

Press and hold the on button for 20 sec

    wait 1 min

    put everything together

If that doesn't fix your screen the the backlight or inverter went out. I'm sorry for your loss. It happened to me as well =(

(One week after my warranty was obsolete)

It really depends on the make/model of your laptop. Most likely you have a faulty motherboard and this is not easily fixed on a laptop. Do a web search on your specific laptop regarding motherboard/video issues and determine if this is a common problem with your machine. If the motherboard is indeed the problem you will have better luck picking up a working motherboard on ebay than trying to buy a new one from the manufacturer.

  • I don't know. If you get video out when attaching a monitor, video chip is at least good. If not, bad motherboard. If you shine a light at the screen and see a faint picture, I think that means you need a new fluorescent bulb and or inverter.
