How do I go about allowing McAffee to allow Limewire to run?

Eversince I had McAffee installed, I could not open Limewire anymore. A pop up message appears saying, "Limewire was unable to initialize and start. This is usually do to a firewall program blocking Limewire's access to the internet or loopback connections on the local machine. Please allow limewire access to the internet and restart Limewire."

I open McAffee in search for the firewall thing, but am unsure if I am in the right spot. Can someone who knows how to tackle this task take me through the procedure of opening limewire?

One more thing, I know , as I've read here, that limewire is a haven of viruses, and that must probably be the reason why it was blocked by McAffee. I'd like to hear your views about whether I should just leave it blocked from my computer (as done by McAffee), or let it run but just continue to be cautious.

Thanks heaps...

i will never use a P2P software again, i'v been there and done that.....its not worth spending hours cleaning up trojans and viruses off your PC.

    1. Double-click on the McAfee "M" icon by the clock at the bottom of the Windows screen

    2. Select Internet and Network

    3. Beneath "To change your options, click Configure below", click the Configure button

    4. Click the button beside Firewall Protection

    5. Click the Advanced... button

    6. On the left pane, select Program Permissions

    7. Look in the list for Limewire and Grant it Full Access

    Hi,

In my opinion Emule is the best program for file sharing. Free download here http://bitly.com/1AynNcv

It's the best software of its kind.

    Bye Bye
