What is the definition of a classic menage a trois--three people, are two of them male or two of them female?

    It was probably most often thought of historically as 1 male, 2 females...as men had far more rights than women did many years ago.

    However, any combination of 3 people (MMM, MMF, MFF or FFF) would be considered a menage-a-trois.

    Menage a trois simply means group of three.

    as long as there a three people... it counts as menage a trois. doesn't matter on the combo...
