Animes that I've seen and recommend (TITLES WILL BE IN ALL-CAPS so it’ll be easier to notice):

- SAILOR MOON series - sort of old but very very popular, more magical girl than romance. “Fighting evil by moonlight…winning love by daylight…never running from a real fight…she is the one name Sailor Moon…” (Sailor Moon theme song – English version, this is all I can remember for the lyrics). Senshi (warriors usually a group of 5, example: Power Rangers) fighting evil. This may be even more popular than Pokemon and Naruto. This anime is what brought females into the world of anime. Even manga, I think. (Before, animes and mangas are usually a male thing). Season 5 is not and probably will not be released in America. If you watch Sailor Moon, watch the Japanese uncut version. Just some more minor inappropriate scenes and some graphic changes (no sex scenes, naked breasts will be censored), and the Japanese dialogues are considered original, English version have some messed up dialogues and are unbearable. Middle school life.

- HANBUN NO TSUKI GA NOBORU SORA (Looking Up at the Half-moon) – a love relationship between a sick boy and a sick girl at a hospital. High school life (by the looks of their age).

- AIR - very confusing plot. High school life.

- KANON - there's 2 versions (2002 and 2006), I recommend you watch both. High school life.

- CLANNAD & CLANNAD ~AFTER STORY~ - not as confusing as AIR. High school life to adult life.

- (NOTE: AIR, KANON, & CLANNAD visual novels are made by the same company, Key.)

- KYOSHIRO TO TOWA NO SORA (Kyoshiro and the Eternal Sky) - if you like mechas + romance. High school life.

- FINAL APPROACH - Final Approach has 13 episodes, with each episode lasting around 12 minutes (including the opening and the ending; this makes each episode lasting approximately 9 minutes.) High school life. A female enters the life of a male claiming she’s his fiancée.

- MYSELF; YOURSELF - music + romance/drama. High school life with adult life at the every end of the finale episode.

- SCHOOL DAYS - very messed up anime, episode 12 final episode has an uncensored version. Perverted scenes. Male make love w/ lots of high school girls (sex scenes not shown, minor parts may show) and then something happens to the male at the end. High school life.

- TRUE TEARS - some sad parts. High school life. True Tears, other than the name being the same, visual novel and anime are totally different.

- AISHITERUZE BABY (I love Ya Baby) - very cute, you will like it. Episode 8 ending is where things get interesting and episode 9 is where the love begins, and there’s more after that. High school life. May contain one or two inappropriate scenes.

- KAMIKAZE KAITOU (thief) JEANNE - I believe episode 15 is where characters confessed. More magical girl than romance. High school life.

- FULL MOON O SAGASHITE - last episode very sad, "Let'ssssssss siiiinnnnggg aaaa soooonnnnggg...day byyyy day..." (Full Moon lyric, that’s all I can remember; very lovely song). Middle school life. About a female that uses songs to reach the one she loves. Finale may make you cry.

- GINBAD KALEIDOSCOPE (Skating ring kaleidoscope) - ice skating + romance. High school life (by their age appearance).

- SUKUZA - track and field + romance, high school life.

- S~A (SPECIAL A) - last episode where a challenge to a confession. High school life. Special A is the class above “A,” 7 students are in Special A class.

- ITAZURA NA KISS (Playful Kiss) – romantic, high school life up to adult life. About a female from the “F” class in love with a male in the “A” class.

- BOKURA GA ITA (We Were There) - last episode very sad. High school life.

- EF ~ A TALE OF MEMORIES & EF ~ A TALE OF MELODIES - a very good drama/romance anime, high school life, plot may be a little confusing. About love relationships and such.

- SOLA - some sad parts. Sky + romance + living in the dark. High school life.

- WIND ~A BREATH OF HEART~ - good anime. High school life.

- ZERO NO TSUKAIMA (The Familiar of Zero) it has 3 seasons - my description of the anime: a kid falls into a parallel world of Harry Potter where it has wizards and wands, falls in love with Hermione...oh and there's no harry potter. May have some perverted scenes. High school life, you decide?

- FRUITS BASKET - you might like, zodiac animals + romance. High school life.

- NOGIZAKA HARUKA NO HIMITSU (Haruka Nogizaka's Secret) - high school life, very good anime, about a perfect student that is obsessed w/ manga and anime (otaku).

- CANVAS and CANVAS 2 - art/paint
