in yahoo answer, is it true that high level people don't usually care about the points?
i ask a question earlier, about the character in the care bear cartoon. i received two answers, they both answered at the same time and same answer too, like it was copied. i do not know who to give the best answer with 10 points. the other is in high level, the other is lower level. and i can't decide so i ask another question in yahoo answer on who i should give the points. to the high level or the low level. someone answered that i should give it to the lower level. according to him, he said that high level people usually don't care about the points. is true? please... anyone please... tnx.

That was me right? Well yes it's true because usually high level people are people who answer questions and answer them with real answers. They just want to help people rather than gain points. I myself don't care about them and I know some other people that don't.

Once you get to level 7 there is no other level to obtain so the points mean less, best answers however do matter if a T/C is to be kept, but if someone just joined copying an answer from a long term user is very common, the thing that i do is choose the first best answer if the best answer is posted more than once which often happens, just thank the others in your comments. this is an acceptable way to do it.Your two answers are only 4 seconds apart so there was not time for the first answer to be copied.

There are some people who would rather be in here
and not get points
but to help someone
I seem to recall a question
or two
are you in here to help someone or get points my answer both
would you still answer questions if there were no points given
It doesn't matter what level a person is on
the points are an encourage and motivate to participate
Its the lower levels that are trying to get up to the high levels.
Why don't you just be the Robin hood of Yahoo Answers!
Steal from the rich (the high level) and give to the poor (the low level)
Come on.....the low men of the totem pole are the ones that really need the points.....you need to be nice and give to those of the lower class's....an incentive to motivate and keep them going.
Your typical high level users have already been there and back.....over and over again.....they don't need the incentives anymore. But give a low class man his 10 pts for his best answer and he will be grateful and want to continue to answer again and again.
Give him none....and he may be discouraged, and feel like he will never be good enough to compete with all your high level users.
Be a noble man....and you will always be remembered.

Points really matter. I am on level 7 but points still matter to me. I am not on Y!A only for points but they matter to me
Points may not matter to users who are not regular on Y!A.
For your problem, see the answer which has provided the most information. If both are same, there are chances that they are copied. If both are exactly same, choose the second answer. Many people on Y!A, answer with a dot first and then copy others answers. This way they become the first to answer and the second answer will be thought to be copied.
Have a nice day! :)

Some people (no matter what level) care ONLY about the points. I've seen some pretty crappy answers from Level 7 users.
However ... I think it's fair to say that higher-level users (in general) care less about the points and participate because they love the site and enjoy helping others.
I don't care about the points at all.

It is not true that higher pointage people care not for the points. There are still a few (selfish) goals to attain, but if the answers are identical and were given at the same time, give it to the lowered point person.
I know this smacks of a kind of favoritism, but perhaps the lowered point person needs that to get to the next level. Think of it as a kind of 'noblesse oblige'

The lower levels need points to level to be able to ask/answer more questions per day.
