There is a VERY slim chance that somebody will actually be 'cured' of schizophrenia. It's a very complex illness and is very difficult to describe how it will return in one answer, so you will have to do more research on your own if you want to learn about it. Basically, something is wrong with the brain, so there is a chemical imbalance. Anti-psychotics work by balancing the chemicals in the brain. If the anti-psychotics aren't taken anymore, then the imbalance will return, and the symptoms of schizophrenia will return.

This happens sometimes with schizophrenics. They think that the illness are gone, so they stop taking the medication, and the symptoms come back.

Schizophrenia cannot be cured. so even if someone is doing well on meds and treatment, they will always be schizophrenic. and sometimes medications stop working overtime so symptoms may come back then. that can usually be fixed with adjusting the meds..but it is a lifelong thing.

Schizophreia can be controlled with medication but it c ant be cured. When the medication is stopped the symptoms will return. Unfortuneately some schiziphreics are not helped with medication.
