Is 65 degrees F too cold for a koi?

I just put in a new pond and I was thinking about moving a tank koi out to it, but the water temp is 65 degrees. Will that be too cold for him?

Update:

The koi is little; he's stunted and only about 4-5" long. The pond is about 2 feet deep at its deepest point but water doesn't freeze where I live

depends on his current tank temp. if they are more than 3 degrees apart it will stress the hell outta him to put him in there. but no it wont kill him at all.

if his tank is like 72 currently, id let the pond warm a bit before acclimating him

No, being as koi, are same as goldfish and carp. They are cold water fish. Do you plan on leaving fish in pond all winter , how deep is it because if it isn't deep enough only a foot or two a large koi can jump out of it.

My Pond is about 30 feet deep. and my koi go to bottom in winter.

Au contraire, that sounds about right for what are basically coldwater fish. Many people utilize pond heaters to maintain the temperature at a certain level, this allows them to feed the fish over the winter.

koi are only related to gold fish they aren't exactly the same species, but yes that will be fine
