Why did Obama declares h1n1 a national emergency?

From February through June 2009 13,000 Americans died due in part to the regular flu. So after 1,000 US deaths now its "pandemic" status and an emergency??? BTW Obama's own children have not yet received the H1 inoculations...huh?!?!? The excuse was there was none available currently<--- Laughable He is the president of the US he gets whatever he wants when he wants it. Is this just a test run to see just how far they can push the masses?

Update:

Maxmom~ I have no idea where you are getting your info from. However you are so off it is ridiculous...... 30,000+ people a year die from the regular flu in America alone!!! That just crushed your little killed 20,000 last time epidemic. Every year the flu hits we do not go "pandemic". If you want to follow blindly do so at your own risk.

Update 2:

Congrats to the RN, you win!!!! For making the most ignorant comments by not answering my question. "This is serious stuff folks" I didn't recall adding a "LOL" or a "LMAO" to the question. Thanks for your thoughtless response I assure you it was well received.

CDC also recommends that you poison your child with mercury laced inoculations before they are 6 months old. Safe mercury levels for an infant were already pre-determined by the EPA!

Simple: He is preparing a stage for that marxist-fascist health care reform, regardless of means.

Declaring an emergency in the face of what could be epidemic illness opens the doors for preparation in case we need it. like moving people from hospital to hospital and setting up remote temporary hospitals.

That is also the reason for state of emergency during fires, floods, etc.

I cannot understand what the possible problem is with this.

More people have died world wide from H1 than normally die in an entire flu season. 20,000 died in the US during the last epidemic. It's no joke.

If it does end up killing a lot of people, those complaining now will ask why Obama didn't do more.

Add: I meant to type million. Here are correct numbers:

The pandemic lasted from March 1918 to June 1920,spreading even to the Arctic and remote Pacific islands. It is estimated that anywhere from 50 to 100 million people were killed worldwide which is from three to seven times the casualties of the First World War (15 million). An estimated 50 million people, about 3% of the world's population (approximately 1.6 billion at the time), died of the disease. An estimated 500 million, or 1/3 were infected.

    Even more serious.

Actually, read the declaration. This declaration is merely a renewal and extension of previous declaration issued by the Secretary of Health and Human Services on April 26, July 24, and October 1. So there really is nothing new or newsworthy in this declaration.

I really like the laugh i get with ignorant statements and questions. This is serious folks, wise up. Go to the CDC and read and educate yourselves. This declaration is allowing for all possible situations to be handles by hospitals etc. We have emergency plans in hospitals that go into affect to treat people infected. It separates people with the flu from other ER situations. It protects people and allows treatments for the ill. Grow up here people.Be glad he moved on these issues, it is your life we are talking about.
