why can't my new laptop with windows 7 open my .vob file from my old windows xp?

i drag/dropped a .vob movie file which i ripped from a dvd on my old computer using windows xp, into my hard drive. when i attempted to open this file on my laptop with windows 7, i couldn't open the file, & was prompted that it can't be recognized. what should i do so i can view this? help please... and thanks in advance guys...

    Install POWER DVD ..... it plays any DVD or vob file, avi, mpeg, wmv ... all video formats -- and its a lot better than windows crappy media player ....

    maybe the win 7 still cant support vob very well, u can try to convert vob to other format, such as mp4. I always use Pavtube DVD Ripper to help me. U can also have a try

    i individually prefer living house windows 7 because of the fact it fairly is greater stable and helps greater spec hardware a number of which won't be able to be run with XP... I on no account had XP boot in decrease than 15 seconds like my living house windows 7 machines. i will run each and all the maximum modern application and video games while not having to be demanding if it fairly is nicely matched with XP.
