aspire 5610z vs v6101us?
Hey i have 2 laptops on my closet and i'm thinking on fixing one. They are not working at the moment as they were given to me by my sister who cant have a laptop more than 2 months without cracking the screen... i can easily find the screens so that's no problem i just want to repair the best one as im selling my toshiba next week. The computer i will be fixing are running to the max on parts just... which one is the faster one? for videogames, dreamweaver, office, etc. Cpu for the v6101us = Mobile AMD Sempron 3400+ 1.8 GHz i have ov to 2.0GHz ... Acer Aspire 5610z has
Intel Pentium Dual-Core processor T2060. I know they can be worthless to some people but just need something till my sis breaks her new laptop... maybe in 2 more months? and no... lol not taking advantage of her she just do not like the same computer after it breaks.

Well, the Semperon 3400 is a single core, while the Acer 5610z has that Intel Dual Core t2060, which is a 1.6ghz processor.
So... a single core 1.8ghz Overclocked (interesting...?) to 2.0, or a dual core at 1.6ghz...
Well, since you mentioned Video games, that means the Compaq is actually better, even with it's single core processor, since the speed of the processor (and video chipset) are more important than a multi-core processor.
If you intend to multi-task, meaning listen to music while writing a paper while surfing the net, then a dual core would be better, just because it spreads the work load out over the multiple cores... but if you were ONLY building yourself a surfing machine, then the Acer would be better than the Compaq...
... but again, you mention video games. Now, remember, people were using single core processors to listen to music while surfing the net while writing papers... so rebuilding the Compaq isn't going to remove the ability to multi-task. It will, however, increase the variety of games you can play, simply because of the faster processor.
So, rebuild the Compaq.
