What is "Australian Humour"?

Somehow I got a feeling that whenever someone makes a fool of oneself the Aussies think it is funny and enjoy it..Though it doesn't mean others don't enjoy it...Is there any guidelines for fixing up what constitutes an Australian Humour?

Australians can have a very black sense of humour. While in many cultures it is considered poor taste to find humour in difficult circumstances, Australians tend to look for this lighter side. This is perhaps our strongest reference to our brutal past, where humour was a means of coping with a bad situation.

Well, I guess it's always more hilarious to observe others screw up than it is to deal with the crap that's associated with one's own screw-ups.

So don't worry about it; big bloopers prove nothing more than that we are all human and far from perfect.

Carrying on about mistakes is probably the biggest mistake of all, and thinking that we learn most from mistakes is probably a close runner up.

After all, how much do you REALLY learn from figuring out that 8 X 7 does NOT equal 29?

Not much -- you still haven't learned the correct answer.

Or how much would you have learned from figuring out that turning right at an intersection is NOT getting you to the destination you intended? Again, you still haven't learned which way you should have gone.

i disagree with wifey, funny does have location, there are american humor like thay saya a statement and then they say "NOT" which asians do not find funny or jokes about holocaust are funny in asia but not in europe and america, jokes about handicapped does not sit well with asians. Australian humor does have a part whe in many australians find one self as a subject of kjokes and are good sports and so are the canadians,

There is no such thing as Australian humor. Funny doesn't have a specific location or group of people. What they find funny is most likely funny to a lot more than just Australians.
