how do i adjust the valves on a 1995 lexus es300?

The car makes one hell of a racket, when started and continues all the time. It sounds like the vavles. Is there and easy adjustment, or do i have to put new shims in? And what is the clearance?

It's not a job for the faint of heart. The engine has solid cam followers. The present cam to follower clearance must be measured before the cams are removed to install thicker followers minus the intake and exhaust follower to cam lash.

Better have your calculator handy and a bushel basket full of cam followers of varying thicknesses.

they are hydraulic valves so there are no adjustment. it could be a rocker came loose but your best bet is change the lifters.

Most probably you need new cam followers.
