There is the village of Kempton not far from Craven Arms, West of Kidderminster, which I suppose could get lumped together with Brum. Possibly on the A488 - long time since I was working in that area.

Have you thought of trying the Reference Librarian in Birmingham Central Library - they have excellent local history sections and if "Kempton Dene" existed in or around the City, they would probably know or be able to find out.

The other possibility is that "kempton dene" is a fictitious location which has been used to hide the identity of anyone in your Case Study.

I've lived in Birmingham for almost all of my life (sorry, 3 years in Manchester at Uni), and I've never heard of Kempton Dene.

I've done searches on several websites and can't find any references, so if it was an area of Birmingham, not only was it a long time ago, but it wasn't recorded very well.

Source(s): 56 years a Brummie, and living here for 53 of those.
