My baby hates tummy time, what should I do?

My baby girl is 9 weeks old & she hates tummy time. She screams from the second I put her down until about 5 minutes after I pick her back up.

She doesn't even try to lift herself up with her arms or raise her head. She just lays there with her head to the side & screams the entire time.

I've tried playing music for her, rattling toys in front of her, putting my face next to hers. Nothing makes her happy. What should I do?

She has very strong arm & neck muscles. When holding her she keeps her head up the whole time unless she's sleepy (and has been doing this since she was 3 weeks old). She also pushes off my chest with her arms all the time.

Wait until she's better at holding her self up with her arms and then try it. My daughter hated it at first but now she loves being on her tummy. I guess 9 weeks seems a bit soon to me.

HAhahah she's only 9weeks old silly of course she hates it not all babies are fans ya know. It might take her a little longer to adjust but don't force anything on her. If she's pushing away from you and moving around a lot you have nothing to worry about it sounds like she's going to go from crawling to running some kids do :)

Just keep trying....One day she will realize she likes it. My son hated it too. Don't keep doing it if she hates it...she will eventually like it...dont let anyone pressure you saying you need to give her tummy time....

Try putting her on your knees when you are sitting on the couch..lay her on her tummy on your knees, she may like that better bc she will be close to you.
