Why did Ken Block switch cars and Why does the tuned Ford Fiesta have higher hp an tq vs. the Subaru WRX STi?

The specs for HP/TQ are as follows: 650/660 all the wheels for the Fiesta, 565/590 for the STi. The Fiesta was prepared by M-Sport and the STi by Crawford Perfomance. Also I would like to know your opinions on which car do you like more.

Update:

I am talking about the Gymkhana versions.

I read somewhere that he had no choice. It was Subaru that dropped out.

msport prep kens wrc car and 300 bhp is about the max output legal in the competition. Olsbergs mse prepared the gymkhana3 fiesta this is the one with the mad statistics you described. both the subaru and fiesta have amazing acceleration speed etc the engines are purpose built. to think they are stock engines like in your grans road car is a mistake that is why they are so fast they are made for the purpose of being a [hoonigan] i would prefer the fiesta because it looks amazing and is smaller meaning more fun quite a lot faster as well ( The reason ken switched to ford is that they are one of few manufacturers of cars in the world rally championship to pursue an international career in rallying instead of staying with a scooby in rally america he made the choice to swap to a ford subaru backed out years ago)

Supercharging the already turbo-charged Fiesta engine isn't impossible, but it would be bl00dy-difficult and bl00dy-expensive, and it will still be a shoddily-built F**d ar the end of it. A Scooby is a much better car all round, but still very heavy, for the power it has. At the Nurburgring, Ron Simons drives his 20 year old Alfa-Romeo 75's around the OUTSIDE of guys who turn up in Scoobies and Evos - power is NOTHING without control, and his cars weigh about a half-ton less than a Scoobie - they have less power, but far better handling. As for the Fiesta, too much power in a front-wheel drive car = sudden, violent death.

It's always about the money. I'm sure Ford threw enough cash at Ken Block to make it happen. Horsepower and torque numbers are only useful to the guys running the engine or chassis dynos. Factories like to fudge numbers for bragging rights.
