Browser temporarily freezes on start-up?

Every time I open my internet browser after turning on my laptop, it freezes for about five seconds. Afterward, it works fine and never freezes again, even if I close the browser and re-open it. It's just that one time when I initially open the browser that it freezes. I mean, it's not that big of a deal, but it shouldn't be doing this, right?

I'm using the latest version of Opera, if that's relevant.

Hi there, defrag your harddrive that might be causing the issue.Plus see if you have any unnecessary addons installed for opera I think that is what slowing it down.the more addons, toolbars you will have with your browser the longer it will take to start up.

    Hope that helps

Try downloading another browser like Google Chrome and see if it does that.

I'm thinking its an add-on you have that causes all that. Check your add-ons to see if they are all up to date. If that doesn't help defrag your registry (use auslogics reg defrag - it cleans up all those empty shortcuts and registry files left behind by installing/uninstalling apps).

    I hope that helps.
